QUICK TAKE

ABC ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL COMEDY SERIES AIRINGS THIS SPRING

The ABC Television Network announced additional airings this spring of comedy series "Better with You," "Cougar Town" and "Happy Endings."

New comedy "Happy Endings" will premiere with back-to-back episodes on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13 (9:31-10:00 & 10:00-10:30 p.m., ET), following an original episode of "Modern Family."

"Cougar Town" will air on a special night and time, MONDAY, APRIL 18 (9:31-10:00 p.m., ET), following a 90-minute episode of "Dancing with the Stars," and returns to the schedule in its regular timeslot on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20 (9:31-10:00 p.m., ET).

"Better with You" will also air on a special night and time the following MONDAY, APRIL 25 (9:31-10:00 p.m., ET), behind a 90-minute episode of "Dancing with the Stars," and will feature guest stars Derek Hough and Larry King.

From "Friends" producer Shana Goldberg-Meehan comes "Better with You," a comedy about a family with three different couples at various stages in their romantic relationships. There's Maddie, a lawyer, and Ben, a hotel manager, two career-oriented people who are head-over-heels in love. Both in their 30s, they've been together for nine years but never felt the need to get married. Then there's Mia, Maddie's free-spirited younger sister and her fianc, Casey. After knowing each other for only seven and a half weeks, they became engaged and are now expecting their first child. Last but not least, there are the girls' parents, Vicky and Joel, who've been married for 35 years. Like Mia, they've adopted a carpe diem sort of philosophy, and at this stage in their lives don't feel the need to take things too seriously.

"Better with You" stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher as Mia, Jennifer Finnigan as Maddie, Josh Cooke as Ben, Jake Lacy as Casey, with Kurt Fuller as Joel and Debra Jo Rupp as Vicky.

The series is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Silver and Gold Productions and Warner Bros. Television. "Better with You" is created by Shana Goldberg-Meehan and executive-produced by Goldberg-Meehan and Greg Malins.

In her Golden Globe(R)-nominated role as Jules Cobb, Courteney Cox stars in an ensemble comedy about life, family and friends in the critically acclaimed series, "Cougar Town." Jules' inner circle includes next door neighbor Ellie (Christa Miller), her sarcastic, unapologetic confidante; Ellie's average but loveable husband, Andy (Ian Gomez); Grayson (Josh Hopkins), her boyfriend/neighbor from across the street; Laurie (Busy Philipps), her younger, feisty protg; ex-husband Bobby (Brian Van Holt), a classic under-achiever, but full of heart; and Travis (Dan Byrd), her dry and witty son who, more often than not, is the adult observer among the group. Together they make up "the cul-de-sac crew," a dysfunctional, but supportive and caring extended family even if they have a funny way of showing it sometimes.

"Cougar Town" stars Courteney Cox as Jules, Christa Miller as Ellie, Busy Philipps as Laurie, Dan Byrd as Travis, Josh Hopkins as Grayson, Ian Gomez as Andy and Brian Van Holt as Bobby.

Bill Lawrence ("Scrubs," "Spin City") serves as executive producer/writer/director, Kevin Biegel ("Scrubs") as executive producer/writer, and Courteney Cox and David Arquette are executive producers. "Cougar Town" was co-created by Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel and is produced by ABC Studios.

"Happy Endings" offers a fresh and funny take on modern friendship and what one urban family will do to stay friends after the perfect couple who brought them all together, Alex (Elisha Cuthbert, "24") and Dave (Zach Knighton, "FlashForward"), break up on their wedding day. The failed wedding forces them all to question their life choices, including Alex's sister, Jane (Eliza Coupe, "Scrubs"), a suburban housewife, and her buttoned-up husband, Brad (Damon Wayans Jr., "The Underground"), who are thinking about starting a family; Max (Adam Pally), their gay friend; and Penny (Casey Wilson, "Saturday Night Live"), who worries about never finding the right guy. Then there are Alex and Dave themselves, who strike a truce and must learn to live with the changes their breakup has brought.

Created by co-executive producer David Caspe (the upcoming feature film "I Hate You Dad"), "Happy Endings" is executive-produced by Jamie Tarses ("HawthoRNe"), Jonathan Groff ("How I Met Your Mother"), Anthony & Joe Russo ("Arrested Development," "Community"). The pilot was written by David Caspe and directed by Anthony & Joe Russo, and is from Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios.
