LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

EASTBOUND & DOWN (HBO) - Jason Sudeikis ("Saturday Night Live") is set to recur on the show's upcoming third season. He'll play Shane, a new friend of Danny McBride's character. No other specifics however were given.


A GIFTED MAN (CBS) - Rachelle Lefevre ("Off the Map") has joined the cast of the Patrick Wilson-led freshman drama. She'll play Kate, "a doctor who joins up at a family clinic where Wilson's character will find himself spending more and more time, pulled away from his own upscale hospital."


GOSSIP GIRL (The CW) - Marc Menard ("Lost") has landed an arc on the netlet's signature soap. He'll play Father Cavalia, "a priest from Monaco with ties to Blair's fiancé, Prince Louis." Other new faces this season include Roxane Mesquida and Elizabeth Hurley.


HARRY'S LAW (NBC) - Alfred Molina ("Law & Order: LA") is sticking with the Peacock, booking a three-episode arc on the legal drama. He'll play "a man who stands accused or murdering his wife." "Harry's Law" bows on its new night - Wednesdays at 9:00/8:00c - on September 21.


HOUSE OF LIES (Showtime) - Michael Rady ("Melrose Place") and Nick Stahl ("Carnivale") have both landed roles on the upcoming comedy. They'll both play potential love interests for Kristen Bell's corporate consultant character, Jeannie. Rady will recur as Wes, "a moneyed golden boy who may be a bit too conservative for Jeannie," with Stahl guest starring as Kurt, "a musician who makes Jeannie question what she wants out of life and love."


PARENTHOOD (NBC) - Michael B. Jordan and Jason Ritter are both set to return for the show's third season as the respective love interests for Sarah Ramos's Haddie and Lauren Graham's Sarah. In addition, Ritter has inked a talent holding deal with producer Universal Media Studios. There it's understood "Parenthood" executive producer Jason Katims is spearheading a potential drama for the actor.
