By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

PUMP (Showtime, New!) - Arnold Schwarzenegger is developing a period drama at the pay channel set in the early 1970s which "traces the origin of the present-day fitness industry and culture of body worship to a single 1,000-square-foot concrete room on Pacific Avenue: a gym called Pump." Michael Konyves (Barney's Version) is penning the hour and will executive produce alongside Schwarzenegger - who will have a recurring role - as well as The Tannenbaum Co.'s Eric and Kim Tannenbaum. (Deadline.com)

QUARRY (Cinemax; W: Graham Gordy & Michael D. Fuller; D: John Hillcoat) - Noah Taylor ("Game of Thrones") has scored a role on the drama pilot, about "a Marine sniper (Logan Marshall-Green) who, upon his return home from Vietnam in 1973, finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public." He'll play Buddy, "a hitman who helps Quarry learn the ropes." Said effort is based on the series of novels by Max Allan Collins. (Deadline.com)

UNDATEABLE (NBC/Warner Bros.; W: Adam Sztykiel; D: Scott Ellis) - Matthew Wilkas and Briga Heelan's roles are being recast on the midseason comedy, about new roommates - man-child Danny (Chris D'Elia) and chronic over-thinker Justin (Brent Morin) - who bond over their foibles with the opposite sex. Heelan guest starred as Maddy, an attractive waitress who works at Justin's bar, in the pilot due to her first position status on the fellow Bill Lawrence-produced "Ground Floor" at TBS. Wilkas then played Brett ("gay and prohibitively picky about everything"), one of Justin's fellow "undateable" friends. Bianca Kajlich, Rick Glassman and Ron Funches also star. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - CBS and Warner Bros. Television are reportedly casting for a new female series regular on "Two and a Half Men" who claims to be a daughter of Charlie Sheen's Charlie Harper (Deadline.com); Adam Bernstein has been tapped to direct and executive producer the opener to FX's limited series "Fargo," inspired by the film of the same name (Deadline.com); "Dads" co-creators Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild have inked a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television (Deadline.com);

Brian Gallivan, whose comedy pilot "The McCarthys" remains in contention at CBS, has signed an overall deal with producer Sony Pictures Television (Deadline.com); James Burrows will continue as an executive producer/in-house director on the new CBS comedy "The Millers" (Deadline.com); Tracy Letts has been upped to series regular on "Homeland" as "the powerful, authoritative, and commanding Committee Chairman asking tough questions" about last season's terror attack (Deadline.com); and "Star-Crossed" creator Meredith Averill has inked a two-year overall deal with producer CBS Television Studios where she'll serve as co-showrunner (Deadline.com).
