This Summer Almost 70% of Married People Will Work on Their Relationships, According to a New WE tv Poll of Couples Married Up to Seven Years
Said study is timed with the recent launch of WE tv's new primetime series, "Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas."

[via press release from WE tv]

THIS SUMMER ALMOST 70% OF MARRIED PEOPLE WILL WORK ON THEIR RELATIONSHIPS, ACCORDING TO A NEW WE TV POLL OF COUPLES MARRIED UP TO SEVEN YEARS

41% OF RESPONDENTS THOUGHT THEY COULD CHANGE THEIR SPOUSE AFTER THEY SAID 'I DO'

POLL SHOWS THAT 28% OF THESE MARRIED PEOPLE HAVE CHECKED THEIR SPOUSE'S PHONE, SOCIAL SITES OR EMAILS TO SEE IF THEY HAVE BEEN UNFAITHFUL

Plus, If You Got the OK for a Celebrity Fling, Which Superstars Would Get The Hall Pass?

New York, June 27, 2013 - Couples everywhere spend months planning their perfect wedding, but what happens after you walk down the aisle and say "I do"? In conjunction with WE tv's new primetime series, "Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas", the network commissioned The Research Boutique, LLC to uncover the truth about life after marriage....for better or for worse.

Based on a sample of 1000 adults, evenly split between men and women married one to seven years, an overwhelming 69% said they were planning to work on their marriage this summer. A whopping 73% of parents are planning to do so. In fact, 22% are already in or thinking about marriage counseling. The poll also found that married males are less forgiving of infidelity than females (43% v. 24%). Other results include:

· 31% have imagined themselves with someone else while making love with their spouse

· 41% of women have faked an orgasm since they got married

· 48% get jealous when their spouse is talking to someone of the opposite sex

· Over 25% of those polled suspect their spouse of cheating, but only 56% would leave their mate if they found out they were unfaithful.

When asked about sex after marriage, 56% say they are more sexually adventurous after marriage, but frequency has declined: 64% of respondents say they had sex a few times a week or every day before marriage, and only 48% say the same after walking down the aisle. Of those polled, 32% say sex was better before they were married, where 29% say it was better after.

Would you give your significant other permission to have a fling? Well, when it comes to a celebrity "hall pass" Jessica Alba (34%) and Mila Kunis (32%) topped the list for men, followed by Megan Fox and Kate Upton (28%), while women chose new dad Channing Tatum (29%) and Ryan Gosling (20%), followed by Adam Levine and Leonardo DiCaprio (17%). Most respondents believe that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, and Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will remain in their marriages for more than five years (at 35% and 34% respectively), while Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas (18%) led the list for celebrity couples most likely to get divorced, followed by Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba (17%).

Jim Carroll, founder and creator Marriage Boot Camp, who coaches the five couples on "Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas" along with his wife, Elizabeth, comments, "While people might not be surprised that Bridezillas are having issues, the reality is that these marital problems and conflicts are universal."

"We know it's hard to confront the ones we love, and ourselves, but let's face it, you're not going to get a perfect union with 2 imperfect people," adds co-Director Elizabeth Carroll. "Whether you're a Bridezilla, a Hollywood celebrity or just an ordinary person, walking down the aisle is just the starting point of a relationship. A happy union takes a lot of hard work."

Additional highlights from the poll include:

· 56% would leave their spouse if they found out they were cheating, but on the upside

· 72% of respondents have never cheated or thought about cheating - driven by females 25-29 (84%) and those married 1 to 3 years (77%)

· Those who plan to work on their marriage are more likely to have cheated than those who don't plan to work on their marriage (8% v. 5%)

· Although males are not more likely to have acted on their desires, they are more likely to have thought about cheating (17% v. 13% of females) or come close to cheating (8% versus 4%)

· On average, respondents rate their sex life a 6.8 out of 10; those married between 1 and 3 years rate their sex life higher than those married 3 to 7 years (7.0% v. 6.7%)

· Sex is not the reason people plan to work on their marriage this summer, as those who say they plan to work on marriage rate their sex life higher (6.9) than those who don't plan to do so (6.6)

· Younger married people 20-29 also rate their sex life higher than those 30-40 (7.0% v. 6.7%)

· Of the 41% of women who have faked an orgasm since they got married, 8% say they do it all the time and 33% say sometimes

· Moms (45%) versus women with no kids (31%) are more likely to have faked an orgasm

· 31% of respondents have imagined themselves with someone else while making love

· Males 30-40 are most likely to have done so (40%) as are those married 3 to 7 years, parents and those who plan to work on their marriage (each at 34%)

· When it comes to flirting, most say it is off limits now that they are married (42%) - females are more likely to say this than males (47% v. 37%)

· 6% say they flirt more since getting married, 27% say the same and 25% say less

· Males say they flirt more when compared to females (7% v. 4%), as are those who plan on working on their marriage (7% v. 3%) and parents (7% v. 3%)

· 48% of respondents get jealous when their spouse is talking to someone of the opposite sex. However, only 7% say they get jealous all the time, while 41% say sometimes - depending on who their spouse is talking to

· Females are more likely to say they sometimes get jealous (46% v.37%)

· Those who plan on working on their marriage are more likely to get jealous than those who don't plan on doing so (52% v. 39%)

· 28% of respondents have checked their spouse's phone, social sites or emails to see if they have been cheating or because they suspect them of cheating - females are much more likely to do so than males (36% v. 21%)

· Those who plan on working on their marriage this summer are also more likely to do so (34% v. 17% of those who don't plan to work on their marriage this summer) as are parents (31% v. 22%)

· Over half of respondents (56%) would leave their spouse if they found out they were cheating

· Those married between one and five years are more likely to say they would leave (59%) than those married 5 to 7 years (52%)

· 36% of married couples say money is the cause of most arguments, whereas 23% say house responsibilities and chores

· The biggest reasons why couples would call it quits are physical abuse and infidelity. Females are much more likely to say physical abuse than males (55% v. 19%), while males are more likely to say infidelity (43% v. 24% of females)

About "Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas"

Now that America's most notorious brides have made it down the aisle and past "I do," five of WE tv's Bridezillas and their husbands head off to an extreme marriage boot camp as they try to make it "til death do us part" in a last ditch effort to save their unions in WE tv's newest original nine-part series MARRIAGE BOOT CAMP: BRIDEZILLAS (new episodes Fridays at 9PM ET/PT). Each hour-long episode features five couples from the past nine seasons of Bridezillas - Melissa & Chris, Porsha & Byron, Remy & Rob, Kirsten & Seth, and Danni & Marlon - all living under one roof for two intense weeks of marriage boot camp led by Jim and Elizabeth Carroll. During the intensive course, the husbands and wives are forced to go head-to-head with their mates, and fellow Bridezillas, as the boot camp directors put them through a progressive series of strategic exercises and drills designed to get to the root of what is destroying their marriage. Each episode puts the relationships to a test with drills escalating in intensity from eulogizing their spouse at life-like funerals to undergoing lie detector tests to unearth their deepest, darkest secrets.
