BARRY (HBO; W: Alec Berg & Bill Hader; D: Bill Hader) - Sarah Goldberg is set to star opposite Bill Hader in the comedy pilot, about an ex-Marine who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest; lonely and dissatisfied in his life he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the L.A. theater scene. She'll play Sally, "an aspiring actress who is Barry's entree into LA's theater scene." (Deadline.com)

BULL (CBS, New!) - Paul Attanasio and Dr. Phil McGraw are set to team for a new drama at the Eye "based on McGraw's early days as head of one of the most prolific trial consulting services of all time." Amblin Television's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank as well as Stage 29 Productions' Jay McGraw are likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)

CRUEL INTENTIONS (NBC/Sony; W: Jordan Ross & Lindsey Rosin; D: Roger Kumble) - The Peacock's small screen revival of the 1999 cult feature - about the 16-year-old son of the late Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) and Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon) - has been issued a pilot order. Kumble, Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty are the executive producers of the project, which "follows the beautiful and cunning Kathryn Merteuil as she vies for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey, the son of her brother, the late Sebastian Valmont, and Annette Hargrove. Upon discovering his late father's legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined." Original Film and AMBI Group are producing for Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)

CRUNCH TIME (NBC, New!) - Betsy Thomas ("Bad Judge") is back in business with the Peacock for a hybrid game show/multi-camera comedy which "intercuts between a real game show and the scripted workplace that centers on an up-and-coming producer trying to wrangle the volatile host." David Janollari Entertainment's David Janollari and The Gurin Company's Phil Gurin also serve as executive producers for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)

LAST TYCOON, THE (Amazon/TriStar; W/D: Billy Ray) - Dominique McElligott has scored a role on the drama pilot, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's final unfinished novel inspired by the life of film mogul Irving Thalberg, about Monroe Stahr (Matt Bomer), Hollywood's first wunderkind studio executive in the 1930s as he climbs to the height of power pitting him against his mentor and current head of the studio Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer), a character based on Louis B. Mayer. She'll play Kathleen Moore, "a pretty and intelligent waitress who works at the restaurant frequented by most of the studio's writers, which is where she meets Monroe who's haunted by her resemblance to his late wife." (Variety.com)

MACGYVER (CBS/CTS; W: Paul Downs Colaizzo; D: James Wan) - The Eye's reboot of Lee David Zlotoff's 1985-92 series - in which twentysomething Angus MacGyver gets recruited into the clandestine organization from the original series where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening - has been given the green light to produce a pilot. Paul Downs Colaizzo penned the hour, succeeding R. Scott Gemmill. Wan, Henry Winkler and Michael Clear also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

ME & MEAN MARGARET (NBC, New!) - Adam Barr ("Growing Up Fisher") has scored a pilot order from the Peacock for a new multi-camera project billed as an "unlikely buddy comedy that follows a fiercely candid and often offensive legendary actress and the ambitious 27-year-old lawyer forced to babysit her." Randall Einhorn has also signed on to direct and executive produce the half-hour, in which a hard-living, foul mouthed woman moves to affluent Greenwich, CT to raise the spoiled kids of her wealthy sister who has fled the country to avoid a federal indictment. She quickly learns what the rest of us already know - other people's children are awful. Nick Frenkel and Oly Obst also serve as executive producers for 20th Century Fox Television.

PRESENCE (UNLIC) (ABC/ABCS; W/D: John Ridley) - Stephanie Sigman (Spectre) has been tapped for the title role on John Ridley's drama pilot, about Presence Foster, a former Army Counter Insurgency Operative who finds herself navigating a widely divergent and highly colorful cross section of Los Angeles as she unintentionally begins a career as an unlicensed (unlic) Private Investigator. (Deadline.com)

SEBASTIAN (A.K.A. UNTITLED SEBASTIAN MANISCALCO PROJECT) (NBC/CTS; W: Austen Earl; D: TBA) - The Sebastian Maniscalco-led comedy - which "chronicles Sebastian's (Maniscalco) old-school values, instilled by his opinionated Italian father, which are constantly put to the test by his new wife, her family, and the absurdities of the modern world" - has been ordered to pilot by the Peacock. Amigos de Garcia Productions' Greg Garcia, Judi Marmel, Norman Aladjem and Alix Jaffe executive produce the multi-camera project for CBS Television Studios with Earl and Maniscalco as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)

SHUT EYE (Hulu/TriStar; W: Les Bohem; D: Johan Renck) - Isabella Rossellini and David Zayas are the latest to board the Jeffrey Donovan-led drama, about Charlie Haverford, a failed magician who now works as a psychic/conman overseeing a number of fortune telling parlors in Los Angeles. Employed for many years by a Romani kingpin, Charlie's life is stifled and going nowhere until a blow to the head jars him into a new mindset and makes him question everything he has ever believed. When his wife (Kadee Strickland) urges him to break out on his own, he's careful - because he knows that one wrong move will land him in a shallow grave. She'll play Rita, "the beautiful and sadistic matriarch of the Romani clan"; while he's set as Eduardo Bernal, "a powerful businessman who comes to Charlie for spiritual advice." (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED MATT HUBBARD PROJECT (NBC/Universal; W: Matt Hubbard; D: TBA) - Jack McBrayer ("30 Rock") has joined the cast of the single-camera comedy pilot, about Andrew (Chris Smith) and Josie (Elizabeth Ho), a happily married interracial couple whose lives take a turn when they move close to Josie's family in Missouri. He's set as Gary, "the sycophantic chief instructor at the Tae Kwon Do Academy owned by Josie's father Jae. Gary looks up to Jae as a father, and fears that Andrew may jeopardize his relationship with Grandmaster Kim." (Deadline.com)

VLAD (NBC/WBT; W: Adam Sztykiel & Vladimir Caamaño; D: TBA) - The Vladimir Caamaño-led comedy, inspired by his real-life family dynamic living with his Dominican father and older brother in the Bronx, is heading to pilot at the Peacock.
