BARRY (HBO; W: Alec Berg & Bill Hader; D: Bill Hader) - Henry Winkler and Anthony Carrigan have signed on for roles in the comedy pilot, about an ex-Marine (Bill Hader) who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest; lonely and dissatisfied in his life he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the L.A. theater scene. Winkler will play Gene Cousineau, "an inspiring acting teacher"; with Carrigan as Noho Hank, "a Russian gangster." (Deadline.com)


FUTURE MAN (Hulu/Sony; W: Ariel Shaffir & Kyle Hunter; D: Evan Goldberg & Seth Rogen) - Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) has signed on for the title role in the comedy pilot, about a janitor by day/world-ranked gamer by night who is tasked with preventing the extinction of humans after mysterious visitors from the future proclaim him the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion. He'll play said fellow, Josh Futterman, as well as produce via his Turkeyfoot Productions banner. (Deadline.com)


GOOD FORTUNE (NBC/20th; W: Craig Gerard & Matt Zinman; D: Pamela Fryman) - Tone Bell, Beau Mirchoff and Diane Guerrero have all signed onto the multi-camera comedy pilot, about June, a hyper-structured young woman whose life is upended when she starts taking advice from a mysterious fortune teller. They'll play her best friends Adam (Bell), Dave (Mirchoff) and Bailey (Guerrero). (Deadline.com)


INTERESTINGS, THE (Amazon/TriStar; W: Lyn Greene & Richard Levine; D: Mike Newell) - Lauren Ambrose ("Dig") has booked a lead role on the drama pilot, based on Meg Wolitzer's bestselling book about a group of friends who meet at an arts camp when they're 15 in 1974 and their relationships throughout the next three decades. She'll play Jules, who's "determined to forge an acting career, but winds up a struggling therapist with a young child, an unemployable husband (Gabriel Ebert) and a tiny New York apartment." JURY, THE (ABC/ABCS/Sony; W: Mark Bianculli & V.J. Boyd; D: Neil Burger) - Eve Harlow ("Heroes Reborn") has been cast in the drama pilot, which follows a single murder trial a season as seen through the eyes of the individual jurors, exploring the biases and experiences that influence the jurors' judgment, and how their preconceptions change along the way. She'll play Melody, "who's completely cynical about the justice system, and has a nonplussed, contrarian attitude that borders on nihilism, but has a razor-sharp sense of humor." (Deadline.com)


MARLON (NBC/Universal; W: Chris Moynihan & Marlon Wayans; D: TBA) - Bresha Webb ("Truth Be Told") has scored a role on the multi-camera comedy pilot, about an inappropriate but loving father (Marlon Wayans) committed to successfully co-parenting with his polar opposite ex-wife, Angie (Essence Atkins). She'll play Yvette, "Marlon's worst enemy and his ex-wife's best friend. She has always disliked Marlon and never held her tongue about it. While she is a trainwreck with absolutely zero love life, she is constantly spouting off advice for her best friend." (Deadline.com)


MIDNIGHT, TEXAS (NBC/Universal; W: Monica Owusu-Breen; D: Niels Arden Oplev) - Dylan Bruce ("Orphan Black") has been cast in the drama pilot, a small screen take on the three-book series by Charlaine Harris, about Midnight, Texas, where the real world and the supernatural collide in a dangerous, sexy, place full of dark secrets and mysterious people. He's set as Bobo Winthrop, "who owns the town's Pawn Shop, as well as a chunk of local real estate." (Deadline.com)


SECOND FATTEST HOUSEWIFE IN WESTPORT, THE (ABC/ABCS; W: Sarah Dunn; D: Ruben Fleischer) - Katy Mixon ("Mike & Molly") has booked the title role on the single-camera comedy pilot, about Katie, a (slightly) larger wife and mother raising her flawed family of three in a wealthy town filled with perfect wives and their perfect offspring. In addition, Rick Wiener and Kenny Schwartz have signed on as executive producers of the project. (Deadline.com)


SIX (History/A+E; W: David Broyles & William Broyles; D: Lesli Linka Glatter) - Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike XXL) has signed onto the drama series, which follows a brotherhood of modern American warriors, Navy SEAL Team Six, the best of the best, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. He'll play Rip Taggart, "a gruff, haggard, and aggressive military man who was once the squad leader of Seal Team Six. Five years later, Rip is working in Africa, protecting a small village from Boko Haram." (Deadline.com)


TIME AFTER TIME (ABC/WBT; W: Kevin Williamson; D: Marcos Siega) - Josh Bowman ("Revenge") is set to star opposite Freddie Stroma in the drama pilot, based on Karl Alexander's 1979 novel-turned-movie of the same name in which H.G. Wells (Stroma) builds a real time machine to travels to the future in search of Jack the Ripper (Bowman). David Warner originated the latter role in the feature. (Deadline.com)


TIME (NBC/Sony; W: Eric Kripke & Shawn Ryan; D: Neil Marshall) - Abigail Spencer ("Rectify") has booked the female lead in the drama pilot, about an unlikely trio traveling through time to battle unknown criminals in order to protect history as we know it. She'll play Lucy Preston, "a brilliant, sharp and warm history professor who gets whisked away by the government for the aforementioned top-secret mission." (TVLine.com)


TRAIL, THE (NBC/WBT; W: Jeff Astrof & Matt Miller; D: Jeffrey Blitz) - Jayma Mays ("The Millers") is the latest addition to the single-camera comedy pilot, a spoof of crime documentaries, about Josh Simon, a young big-city lawyer and his oddball defense team during a high-profile murder trial in a small southern town. She'll play Carol Anne Keane, "the Assistant District Attorney prosecuting Larry Henderson (John Lithgow) for the murder of his wife." (Deadline.com)


VAN HELSING (Syfy/Nomadic; W: Neil LaBute; D: Michael Nankin) - Kelly Overton ("Legends") has been tapped for the lead role on the upcoming drama, about Vanessa Helsing, the daughter of famous vampire hunter and Dracula nemesis Abraham Van Helsing. She is resurrected five years in the future to find out that vampires have taken over the world and that she possesses unique power over them. She is humanity's last hope to lead an offensive to take back what has been lost. Also signing on are Jonathan Scarfe (Axel), Christopher Heyerdahl (Sam), Paul Johansson (Dimitri), David Cubitt (John) and Tim Guinee (Ted) while Michael Nankin, Jason Priestley, David Frazee, Simon Barry and Amanda Tapping are set to direct the 13-episode series.
