CLAWS (TNT) - Jason Antoon is the latest to be cast in the dramedy pilot. He's set as Dr. Ken Brickman, "a bona fide doctor with a decidedly un-bona fide job, working at an illegal drug clinic." (Deadline.com)
DEEP, THE (Freeform) - Eline Powell and Rena Owen are the first to be cast in the drama pilot, "set in Bristol Cove, a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids." Powell will play Po, "a strange young woman who appears traumatized and lost. Growing increasingly ill and exhausted on land, Po is revealed to be a mermaid." Owen then is on board as Helen, "the eccentric proprietor of a Bristol Cove curio shop called Helen's Antiquities. She's an enigmatic person who views the town's mermaid obsession with disdain. She also appears to have some connection with Po." (Deadline.com)
DRINK, SLAY, LOVE (Lifetime, New!) - Sarah Beth Durst's novel is set to become an original movie at the cable channel. Cierra Ramirez stars as Pearl, "a typical 16-year-old vampire - fond of blood, allergic to the sun, and generally pretty evil. After a mysterious attack leaves her able to survive in the daylight, Pearl's powerful family quickly takes advantage of this new ability, sending her to high school to gather fresh young blood for an upcoming feast in honor of the Vampire King. The only problem is that Pearl is starting to grow a conscience. How can she serve up her new friends to be slaughtered? Then again, she's definitely dead if she lets her family down." Gregg Sulkin, Zach Peladeau, McKaley Miller, Angelique Rivera, Sarah Desjardins and Jasmine Sky Sarin also star in the project, which Vanessa Parise will direct from a script by Eirene Donohue. Sheri Singer of Just Singer Entertainment and Bella Thorne are the executive producers with Sepia Films' Tina Pehme and Kim C. Roberts producing. Production is underway. (Deadline.com)
FOREVER BOYS (Disney Channel, New!) - Ricky Garcia, Emery Kelly and Liam Attridge of the boy band Forever In Your Mind are set to star in a supernatural comedy pilot at the network about "three brothers who were bitten by a vampire during their debut concert in 1957. After living in the shadows for over half a century to keep their vampire-identities a secret, they meet a music producer who convinces them to reemerge as a vampire boy band. Now, on track to become stars, the boys are excited to breathe new life into their music career while trying to live as normal teenagers." Bob Smiley wrote the pilot and will serve as a co-executive producer with Adam Stein directing. Production begins next month. (Deadline.com)
JANE THE VIRGIN (The CW) - Eva Longoria has been tapped to direct the show's third episode this season. (TVLine.com)

ORVILLE (FOX) - Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book) has signed on to direct and executive produce the debut installment of Seth MacFarlane's sci-fi series. Production is slated to begin in January on the straight-to-series project. (Deadline.com)
RISE (The CW, New!) - Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux ("The Vampire Diaries") have sold a new drama to the netlet "set following a terrorist attack. When martial law is declared, a disparate group of everyday people start to uncover that the attack was a cover-up for a homegrown coup. These unlikely heroes rise up against the tyranny of the new governmental regime, planting the seeds of hope and strength that will in time spark a Second American Revolution." Julie Plec also serve as an executive producer via her Warner Bros. Television-based My So-Called Company. (Deadline.com)
