ABBY'S (A.K.A. UNTITLED JOSH MALMUTH PROJECT) (NBC) - Josh Malmuth's comedy - "set at an unlicensed bar in San Diego where the regulars enthusiastically enforce a unique set of rules that give them a sense of community and allow them to avoid the frustrating behavior found at other establishments" - has received the green light to produce a pilot. The project, confirmed as multi-camera, is also executive produced by David Miner and Michael Schur for Universal TV. (Deadline.com)
FALSE PROFITS (ABC) - Kayla Alpert's drama - which follows a team of down-and-out women in suburban Arizona as they fight their way to the top of the cutthroat world of a multi-level marketing cosmetics business - is among the latest to receive a pilot order by the network. Sabrina Wind and Jason T. Reed also executive produce for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
FRIENDS-IN-LAW (NBC, New!) - Brian Gallivan has likewise landed a pilot order from NBC for a new multi-camera comedy about Brian and Jake, "who are polar opposites and must quickly figure out how to coexist when their respective best friends decide to get married." Sitcom veteran Tom Werner will also executive produce for Universal TV. (Deadline.com)
GET CHRISTIE LOVE (ABC) - The Kylie Bunbury-led drama - a revival of the cult 1974-75 blaxploitation-themed TV movie/series about an African American female CIA agent who leads an elite ops unit - has formally been given a pilot order by the Alphabet. Courtney Kemp penned the hour and executive produces alongside Vin Diesel, Debra Martin Chase and Shana C. Waterman for Lionsgate TV and Universal TV. (Deadline.com)
GOD FRIENDED ME (CBS) - Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt's drama - about an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down when he is "friended" by God on Facebook and unwittingly becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him - has been given a pilot order by the network. Marcos Siega had already been attached to direct and executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter for Warner Bros. TV. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Kim Raver has booked another return trip to the veteran drama as Teddy Altman. (TVLine.com)
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (ABC) - Lolita Davidovich is set to recur on the series in a top secret role later this season. (Deadline.com)
LIKE FAMILY (NBC) - Suzanne Martin's comedy - about Aubrey and Artie, two twentysomething friends who met as foster children and now try to figure out what they want from life and each other in New York City - has scored a pilot order from NBC. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner also executive produce the Universal TV-based project, now confirmed as multi-camera. (Deadline.com)
MANIFEST (NBC) - Jeff Rake's high concept drama - in which a plane disappears from radar and returns five years later after being untraceable and presumed lost at sea however no time has passed for those on the plane but, for their loved ones at home, a long five years have gone by - has scored a green light to produce a pilot by the Peacock. Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke also executive produce for Warner Bros. TV with Jackie Levine as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Kip Pardue will guest on the current season as "the fiancé of Zelena's cursed alter-ego Kelly." (EW.com)
PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: THE PERFECTIONISTS (Freeform) - Charlie Craig has signed on as an executive producer/co-showrunner of the upcoming spin-off. (Deadline.com)
ROOKIE, THE (ABC) - Liz Friedlander has been tapped to direct and executive produce the first episode of the Nathan Fillion-led drama, about the oldest rookie in the LAPD. She'll work from a script by Alexi Hawley. Fillion, Mark Gordon, Nicholas Pepper, Michelle Chapman and Jon Steinberg also serve as executive producers for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
SO CLOSE (NBC, New!) - Greg Malins has scored a pilot commitment from the Peacock for a new multi-camera comedy about "hopeless romantics Riley and Kyle, who are close to settling for the wrong partner, unaware that they live only blocks apart and may be each other's soul mates." Hazy Mills Productions' Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner are also executive producing the Universal TV-based project, which was previously set up with a put pilot commitment. (Deadline.com)
