CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Teddy Sears has been tapped to recur on the veteran drama as Kyle Sheffield, "a warm, kind-hearted, clean-whistle, open and eager clergyman [who] shares a history with new paramedic Emily Foster." (TVLine.com)
GODFATHER OF HARLEM (Epix) - Paul Sorvino has signed onto the Forest Whitaker-led period drama as Frank Costello, "known as the "Prime Minister," a dapper former mob boss, now a diplomat who settles disputes between the Five Families." (Deadline.com)
IZOMBIE (The CW) - Bryce Hodgson's Don E has been named series regular for the show's upcoming final season. (Deadline.com)
LIKE MAGIC (NBC, New!) - Bridget Kyle and Vicky Luu have sold a new comedy to the Peacock about "an optimistic young woman pursuing her dreams in the mysterious world of the Magic Palace." Matt Hubbard and CannyLads Productions' Julie Anne Robinson are also on board to executive produce for Universal Television. Kelly Pancho is producing. (Deadline.com)
RUTHLESS (The CW, New!) - George Olson has set up a potential drama at the netlet about "an ex-CIA operative, desperate for a normal life after a decade spent as a government killing machine, and a slightly unhinged teenage girl craving an escape from the mundane, who are forced into an unlikely alliance. Together, they begin to expose the dark secrets of their idyllic suburb as the former assassin helps her gleeful protégé survive tenth grade without a body count." CBS Television Studios-based Solar Drive Productions is behind the hour with the company's Michael Weatherly also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
TRASHERS (FX, New!) - Dan Nowak is developing a new drama at the cable channel which "follows a minor league hockey team owned by a small town trash hauler with mob ties." The project is loosely based on Rich Cohen's The Atlantic article "The Mobster Who Bought His Son a Hockey Team." No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
