ENCOUNTERS (Netflix, New!) - Amblin Television, Vice Studios and Boardwalk Pictures are set to team for a four-part docuseries at the streamer "which will explore four extraordinary true stories of encounters with otherworldly phenomena." Yon Motskin is directing the project, due on September 27, and will executive produce alongside Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Andrew Fried, Jordan Wynn, Dane Lillegard, Andrew Freston, Danny Gabai, Derek Mead and Jason Koebler. Patrick Altema is a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com, 8/17)
GOOD LAWYER, THE/HOME ECONOMICS/ROOKIE, THE: FEDS (ABC) - Cast options on all three projects will be on hold for the duration of the SAG-AFTRA work stoppage according to rules pertaining to the strike. The original clock then resumes once the strike ends. (Deadline.com, 8/15)
KING OF THE HILL (REBOOT SERIES) (Hulu) - The late Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale Gribble, reportedly completed work on "a couple" episodes of the revival series prior to his death. (TVLine.com, 8/14)
LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, A (Amazon) - The streamer has rescinded the show's second - and final - season order, originally placed back in April. (Deadline.com, 8/18)
PAINTING WITH JOHN (HBO) - John Lurie took to social media with the news HBO has pulled the plug on the series after three seasons. (@lurie_john, 8/16)
PERIPHERAL, THE (Amazon) - The streaming service has likewise opted not to proceed with a second season of the series, commissioned back in February. (Deadline.com, 8/18)
TRANSPLANT (NBC) - The network has quietly pushed the show's third season premiere from October 5 to October 12. NBC will instead rebroadcast the premiere of newcomer "Found" that Thursday at 9:00/8:00c. (NBC.com, 8/17)
WARRIOR NUN (Netflix) - Executive producer Dean English has indicated the former Netflix series will return as a trilogy of movies. No outlet however was given. (Warrior Nun Saved, 8/15)
