COUNTRY POWERHOUSE TRISHA YEARWOOD TO RECEIVE INAUGURAL JUNE CARTER CASH HUMANITARIAN AWARD AND DEBUT WORLD PREMIERE OF NEW SELF-PENNED SONG LIVE AT THE 2024 "CMT MUSIC AWARDS," APRIL 7 ON CBS

· Country icon Trisha Yearwood is set to receive the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award and perform LIVE at the 2024 CMT MUSIC AWARDS, airing from Austin, Texas' Moody Center on Sunday, April 7 (8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.*

· Inspired by country pioneer June Carter Cash, the award recognizes an artist, duo/group or industry veteran who demonstrates an exceptional dedication to community and their fellow artists, embodying June's spirit as a fierce advocate and initiator in paying it forward, helping others find their voice and using their platform to inspire and uplift others.

· Yearwood will be recognized with the honor in-show and also perform a can't-miss world-premiere performance of "Put It in a Song," the first release from her forthcoming album. This album denotes a significant milestone in her illustrious career, as it features a collection of songs co-written by Yearwood. This marks Trisha's first appearance on the CMT stage since 2019.

· "We are thrilled to honor the incomparable Trisha Yearwood with the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award at this year's show. Trisha has a unique ability to rally a community, whether that may be families in need with Habitat for Humanity, or uplifting her fellow artists and entertainers trying to carve a path in the industry. She embodies the bold strength of June, who tirelessly devoted herself to service and community, and the namesake for this award. Both multi-hyphenate trailblazers eloquently crafted a script for others to model, letting their hearts and authenticity guide their personal, professional and public lives," shared CMT Music Awards executive producers.

· Yearwood's extensive philanthropy includes her long-standing work with Habitat for Humanity over the past two decades, including the Carter Work Project and National Women Build Week. She was named a Habitat Humanitarian in 2016 with husband Garth Brooks.

o Additionally, her charitable involvement extends to establishing Dottie's Yard to help animal rescues, Stanford Women's Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, Humane Society, GRAMMY foundation MusiCares, Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential, Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Susan B. Komen Foundation, among many others.

· The three-time GRAMMY(R) winner is a steadfast mentor and champion of her fellow female artists - past, present and future - leading the "Five Decades, One Voice" initiative and working closely with the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, where she serves as a guardian and trusted legacy keeper, protecting country music's heritage and ensuring the voices of her predecessors don't fade in the background.
