HISTORY(R) MARKS SIX YEARS OF GROWTH

BEST YEAR EVER FOR THE NETWORK

#1 Entertainment Destination for Men and #1 Non-Fiction Entertainment Network

New York, December 19, 2012 - HISTORY(R) will close out 2012 as its best year ever for the sixth year in a row.

Since 2009, HISTORY is the fastest growing network in all of television. With an all original line-up, the network currently has more series averaging over 1 million impressions with Adults 25-54 than any other network in cable.

HISTORY will finish the year as the #1 non-fiction entertainment network in all key demos, the #1 entertainment destination for men and the #4 cable network (among Adults 25-54). And, for the third year in a row HISTORY ranked in the top 5 among all 4 key demos.

HISTORY's first scripted miniseries, HATFIELDS & MCOYS, shattered records over the three night premiere (May 28-30) with an average of 13.8 million total viewers per night and a total of more than 62 million viewers tuning in during the week. All 3 parts of HATFIELDS & MCOYS now rank as the top 3 entertainment telecasts of all time in ad supported cable history among total viewers.

Returning top performing series propelled the network in 2012, such as PAWN STARS, AMERICAN PICKERS, SWAMP PEOPLE and AX MEN.

This summer, HISTORY launched two more original hit series to its roster: MOUNTAIN MEN with an average of 3.5 million total viewers, 1.7 million Adults 25-54 and 1.5 million Adults 18-49, making it one the top non-fiction shows in cable and COUNTING CARS with an average of 2.6 million total viewers, 1.4 million Adults 25-54 and 1.3 million Adults 18-49.

HISTORY was also driven to success in 2012 with its roster of acclaimed and highly successful event specials and mini-series programming, such as: THE MEN WHO BUILT AMERICA, which averaged 2.6 million total viewers, 1.2 million Adults 25-54 and 1 million Adults 18-49 across 4 nights.

HISTORY(R) is the leading destination for factual entertainment, including award-winning original series and specials that connect viewers with history in an informative, immersive and entertaining manner across multiple platforms. The network's all-original programming slate, including scripted event programming, features a roster of hits including American Pickers(R), American Restoration(TM), Ax Men(TM), Ice Road Truckers(R), Pawn Stars(R), Swamp People(R) and Top Shot(R) as well as epic mini-series and specials such as the Emmy(R) Award-winning Hatfields & McCoys, Gettysburg, Vietnam in HD, America The Story of Us, and 102 Minutes That Changed America. The HISTORY website is the leading online resource for all things history, and in 2011, the United States Library of Congress selected HISTORY's Civil War 150 site for inclusion in the historic collection of Internet materials related to the American Civil War sesquicentennial. www.history.com
