TNT's "Cold Justice" Continues to Make an Impact in Second Season With Confessions and Indictments

Real-Life Crime Series Opens Season Two with 1.4 Million Viewers As Premiere Episode Suspect Confesses to Murder and Leads Detectives to Body

TNT's fascinating real-life crime series Cold Justice continues to have a real-world impact, returning for its second season last Friday night with a case that has resulted in a murder confession. More than 1.4 million viewers tuned in to Friday's season premiere of Cold Justice, which follows former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime-scene investigator Yolanda McClary as they dig into murder cases that have lingered for years in small towns across America. This season will be full of firsts for the show, including its first missing-person case and its first case in which DNA evidence plays an important role. Both of these firsts lead to astonishing outcomes, demonstrating that by working with local law enforcement, Siegler and McClary are helping bring about real results in real time for the police, investigators, district attorneys and families who have worked tirelessly on these cold cases for years.

The impact of Cold Justice, which airs Fridays at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on TNT, can be seen clearly in the outcomes of the investigations, which in the first 11 episodes have resulted in two confessions, five indictments and a 22-year prison sentence for a felon. In last Friday's thrilling, edge-of-your-seat season premiere, Siegler and McClary helped local law enforcement investigate the 2001 disappearance of Tracy Allen in Altus, Okla. The main suspect in the disappearance and alleged murder was the young woman's ex-husband, Garland Allen, but after enough evidence was uncovered to make an arrest, the person of interest found out and made a run for it. The investigation came to a climax when Detective Bill Perkins, with the invaluable assistance of Texas Rangers, not only drew a confession out of Garland Allen but also got the suspect to lead them to where the body had been buried for years. Garland Allen has since been charged with second-degree murder, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 31. He remains in the Jackson County jail under no bond.

In the second episode of the season, which airs this Friday, Jan. 24, Siegler and McClary head to Camp Hill, Ala., to search for new clues that may help solve the 2005 murder of a beloved member of the community. DNA winds up playing an important factor in the ultimate outcome of the investigation.

Cold Justice drew 1.4 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for this past Friday's season two premiere. The show scored strong growth among TNT's target demos, with the season premiere averaging 664,000 adults 25-54 (+24% vs. season 1 average) and 611,000 adults 18-49 (+51% vs. season 1 average).

Cold Justice is produced for TNT by Wolf Films and Magical Elves, with Emmy(R) winners Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Chicago Fire), Dan Cutforth & Jane Lipsitz (Top Chef) and Tom Thayer (Hitchcock, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) serving as executive producers.
