'MACY'S 4TH OF JULY' SPECIAL GENERATES THE HIGHEST SATURDAY AVERAGE FOR ANY BIG 4 NET, EXCLUDING SPORTS, SINCE FEBRUARY

'FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR' IS UP +10% VERSUS THE COMPARABLE PRIOR SATURDAY TELECAST IN 2009 FROM 9-10 P.M.

DESPITE THIS YEAR'S SATURDAY AIR DATE, THE 10 P.M. 'MACY'S' RECAP EQUALS LAST YEAR IN 18-49 AND GROWS IN TOTAL VIEWERS

Saturday Results:

NBC dominated primetime with the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks(R) Spectacular" delivering the highest-rated Saturday (0.9) for any Big 4 network, excluding sports, since Feb. 21 (1.0 for NBC's "Dateline Mysteries" and "SNL Vintage").

NBC ranked #1 among the Big 4 networks for the night in every key measure.

· "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks(R) Spectacular" (0.9/6 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) is up +10% in 18-49 rating comparing last night's second-hour result from 9-10 p.m. (1.1/7 for that hour) to the rating for the annual special's prior Saturday telecast (1.0/5 for its one hour from 9-10 on Saturday, July 4, 2009) and is up +20% or 1.0 million persons in total viewers (6.211 million from 9-10 last night vs. 5.196 million in 2009).

· "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" tied the 10-11 p.m. recap as the #1 primetime show of the night in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 or tied for #1 with the recap in total viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-34, kids 2-11 and most other key measures.

· "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" soared by +86% from its first half-hour to its fourth in adults 18-49 (0.7 to 1.3) and skyrocketed by 4.3 million persons or +124% from its first half-hour to its fourth in total viewers (3.5 million to 7.8 million).

· As expected with a Saturday airdate, last night's telecast is down 0.2 of a point versus the year-ago Friday "Fireworks Spectacular" (0.9/6 vs. 1.1/6 from 8-10 on Friday, July 4, 2014) and 9% in total viewers (4.884 million vs. 5.373 million).

· The annual special, emceed by "Today" co-hosts Willie Geist and Tamron Hall, featured performances by Ed Sheeran, Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Flo Rida and Meghan Trainor.

· A recap telecast of "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (0.9/5 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET), despite this year's Saturday airdate, matched the year-ago 10 p.m. recap in 18-49 and is up +4% in total viewers (4.392 million vs. 4.242).

· The 10 p.m. recap tied the 8-10 p.m. first-run telecast as the night's #1 primetime show on the Big 4 in 18-49 and was #1 in teens 12-17 (with a 0.4 rating). It's the first time in the five years NBC has run a 10 p.m. encore that the recap has matched the 8-10 p.m. first-run telecast in 18-49 rating.

In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday Night:

· An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Amy Adams and musical guests One Direction, averaged a 2.2 rating, 6 share in household results in Nielsen's 56 metered markets and a 0.8/4 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters, to outrate all primetime telecasts last night on ABC, CBS and Fox in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
