COWBOYS FACE DOLPHINS TO KICK OFF PRESEASON IN NFL/HALL OF FAME GAME ON "SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" THIS SUNDAY AT 8 PM ET

Al Michaels Honored with Pro Football Hall of Fame's Rozelle Award

STAMFORD, Conn. - July 30, 2013 - Sunday Night Football, television's No. 1 primetime program, kicks off the NFL's 2013 preseason schedule with the NFL/Hall of Fame Game this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET as Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys face second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill, his new free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace and the Miami Dolphins.

Calling Cowboys-Dolphins from Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio is seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his 28thseason as the voice of the NFL's premier primetime package; 14-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth, who has won the Emmy for Outstanding Event Analyst in each of his four seasons in the Sunday Night Football booth; and sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, who won the inaugural Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Reporter following her first season with SNF in 2011.

This Friday in Canton at the Enshrinees Gold Jacket Dinner, the Pro Football Hall of Fame will present Michaels with the Pete Rozelle Radio & Television Award for "long-time exceptional contributions to radio and television in professional football." Michaels has served as the play-by-play voice of the NFL's broadcast primetime package for more than a quarter century (NBC, 2006-present; ABC 1986-2005).

"This is tremendous honor for Al, an icon who for 27 years has been the voice of record for the NFL in primetime," said NBC Sports Group Chairman Mark Lazarus.

"I consider it my lifetime achievement award that I get to work with the most iconic broadcaster in sports history," said Collinsworth, entering his fifth season as Michaels' Sunday Night Football partner.

NBC's second preseason game will air on Sunday, Aug. 25 also at 8 p.m. ET and features Colin Kaepernick and the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers hosting the Minnesota Vikings, with 2,000-yard rusher Adrian Peterson.
