RUMER WILLIS AND BALTHAZAR GETTY GUEST STAR ALONGSIDE EMMY NOMINATED ANJELICA HUSTON ON AN UPCOMING EPISODE OF NBC'S 'MEDIUM'

Emmy Winner Patricia Arquette Directs For The Second Time

BURBANK, Calif. - March 12, 2009 - Rumer Willis ("The House Bunny"), Balthazar Getty ("Brothers & Sisters") and Oscar winner Anjelica Huston ("The Royal Tenenbaums") guest star in a powerful episode of NBC's "Medium" this Spring titled, "The First Bite Is The Deepest." Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette stars as well as directs for the second time this season and Anjelica Huston reprises her Emmy nominated role of Cynthia Keener, a private investigator who worked with Allison Dubois last season and is now serving time in prison for the murder of her daughter's killer.

In the episode, Keener reaches out to Allison for help when a friend (Willis) turns up missing. Allison learns the missing young woman was a kidnap victim who Keener had rescued years ago. Simultaneously, Allison is asked by a well-known and wealthy real estate magnate (Getty) to investigate the case of his missing wife.

"'Medium' has always been a magnet for actors, but we really hit the jackpot with this episode," said executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron. "This outstanding guest cast, along with the promise of Patricia's directing have us all eagerly anticipating the outcome of what we believe will be a very powerful episode."

Willis, Getty and Huston join a notable list of actors that have previously been announced as guest stars on this season's "Medium" including Blythe Danner, Tracy Pollan, David Morse, Jeffrey Tambor, James Van Der Beek, Kurtwood Smith and Max Casella.

From Emmy Award-winning executive producer, creator and director Caron ("Moonlighting"), "Medium" is a chilling drama series inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison DuBois. Emmy-winning Patricia Arquette ("Stigmata," "Flirting with Disaster") stars as a young wife and mother who, since childhood, has been struggling to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. Arquette received her Emmy Award in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for her performance as Dubois during the first season, and was again nominated last year in the same category.

In this fifth season, Allison and her family's world has returned to normalcy, now that both of the Dubois are employed and her abilities are publicly known. With Manuel Devalos (Miguel Sandoval, "Jurassic Park") returning to the D.A.'s office, Allison once again serves as a part-time consultant to his office, using her psychic abilities -- which consist of talking to dead people as well as seeing current and future events in her dreams -- to solve violent and horrifying crimes that baffle Phoenix police and others within the criminal justice system. Jake Weber ("Meet Joe Black") stars as Allison's supportive husband Joe, who is launching his own scientific engineering business. Sofia Vassilieva ("Eloise at the Plaza") and Maria Lark ("10.5") star as Ariel and Bridget, the two eldest Dubois children, both of whom share their mother's abilities to varying degrees. David Cubitt ("10.5: Apocalypse") stars as Detective Lee Scanlon and Madison & Miranda Carabello plays the youngest daughter, Marie Dubois.

Caron is creator and executive producer. Kelsey Grammer ("Girlfriends"), Steve Stark and Oscar winner Ronald L. Schwary ("Ordinary People") are executive producers. "Medium" is produced by Picturemaker Productions, Inc. in association with CBS Paramount Network Television and Grammnet Productions.
