Coy will play Paul Hendrickson, "a kindred spirit to Vincent Martino (James Franco), Paul is a veteran bartender who pursues his own personal and professional ambitions in the emerging gay, lesbian and transsexual community of '70s New York." Shakir then is Big Mike, "a man of few words, a physically imposing loner who becomes Vincent's primary muscle and fiercely devoted friend." (Deadline.com)

MACGYVER (CBS) - James Wan (The Conjuring 2) is set to helm the new pilot for the upcoming fall drama, now detailed as follows: "MACGYVER, a reimagining of the classic series, is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus "Mac" MacGyver, who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high-risk missions around the globe is maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton. At home, MacGyver is entertained by his ambitious roommate, Wilt Bozer. Under the aegis of the Department of External Services, MacGyver takes on the responsibility of saving the world, armed to the teeth with resourcefulness and little more than bubble gum and a paper clip." Wan was slated to direct the original pilot but had to bow out for scheduling issues and was succeeded by David Von Ancken. (Deadline.com)
MICK, THE (FOX) - Randall Einhorn has closed a deal with 20th Century Fox Television to continue on the series as in-house director/executive producer as well as helm another pilot for the studio next season. (Deadline.com)
REIGN (The CW) - Steve Lund ("Bitten") will recur on the upcoming fourth season of the series as Luc, "a sexy, highborn rogue who is also a plain speaking realist. He's a good guy who happens to have a morally compromised and very powerful father: Lord Stephan Narcisse (Craig Parker). But he is his own man, eyeing his own future, even as his father pressures him to make lasting and permanent inroads with the French royal family. Specifically, Narcisse wants his son at Princess Claude's (Rose Williams) side. Luc's arrival on our canvas will complicate Claude's life in ways she could never have imagined." (Deadline.com)
