BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Lorraine Toussaint has been tapped to play Almaviligerais, the sister of Laurence Fishburne's character, Pops, who "is always on the hustle, pulls no punches and is down for whatever, she is strongly disliked by Ruby (Jenifer Lewis) so Dre (Anthony Anderson) has to conceal his love for her whenever Ruby is around." BLINDSPOT (NBC) - Jonathan Patrick Moore is bound for an arc on the new season as Oliver Kind, "a water conversation specialist who befriends Jane (Jaime Alexander)." (Deadline.com)
BOSCH (Amazon) - Christopher Backus ("Roadies") is set to recur on the series as Woody Woodrell, "a former Army Special Forces soldier who now works for a private security firm." (Deadline.com)
BULL (CBS) - Jill Flint ("The Night Shift") will guest on the Eye's new drama as "a confident attorney who wields her smile like a weapon, but with a twist of Texas charm." (TVLine.com)
CATCH, THE (ABC) - Gina Torres ("Suits") has booked a top secret role on the new season, her first commitment since exiting the USA drama after six seasons. (Deadline.com)
CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (The CW) - Scott Michael Foster will recur on the new season as Nathaniel, "a lawyer from a prominent family who technically is from the San Gabriel Valley but who is nonetheless from a very different world. When he collides with Rebecca and the people in her life, he affects everyone's future." Said role has the option of becoming a series regular. (TVLine.com)
DR. KEN (ABC) - "Shark Tank" stars Mark Cuban, Lori Grenier, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O'Leary will appear as themselves in an upcoming episode. (TVInsider.com)
FREQUENCY (The CW) - Curtis Armstrong ("Supernatural") will drop by the newcomer as Karl Pierce, "a manipulative and charming former quantum physics professor who's gone to the dark side." (TVLine.com)
FULLER HOUSE (Netflix) - Hal Sparks has been cast as D.J.'s ex-boyfriend Nelson Burkhard on the show's sophomore run, where he'll take over from original series co-star Jason Marsden. (TVLine.com)
HAND OF GOD (Amazon) - The streaming service has indicated the second season of the Ron Perlman-led drama, due next year, will be its last. (THR.com)
HAPPY (Syfy) - The cable channel's small screen take on Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson's comic book - about a corrupt, intoxicated, ex-cop turned hit-man adrift in a twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal whose world is about to be changed forever by Happy, a tiny (imaginary) blue winged horse with a relentlessly positive attitude - has been greenlit to pilot. Said effort comes from Universal Cable Productions with Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Toby Jaffe of Original Film; and writers Morrison and Brian Taylor (who will also direct) executive producing. HAUNTED (Syfy) - Noga Landau's drama - about "four adult children of self-proclaimed paranormal experts who are reunited following their parents' sudden and mysterious deaths" - is heading to pilot at the cable channel. Universal Cable Productions is behind the hour with James Frey and Todd Cohen of Full Fathom Five executive producing and Landau as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
MACHINE, THE (Syfy) - Caradog James's small screen take on his 2013 film - which "explores the epic conflict between man and technology through the lives and motivations of six interwoven characters, each of whom holds the key to humanity's victory or its destruction" - has been ordered to pilot by the cable channel. John Giwa-Amu also serves as an executive producer on the project, from Red & Black Films and Universal Cable Productions. (Deadline.com)
SUPERGIRL (The CW) - Sci-fi staple Dichen Lachman has been cast as DC Comics baddie Roulette on the new season, who "runs an underground alien fight club in National City and is eager to get Supergirl in the ring." (ComicBook.com)
UNTITLED SHARZER & STRONG PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Danny Strong and Jessica Sharzer are set to team for a new drama at the network about "a team of civil rights lawyers who take on the most newsworthy cases of our time, balancing the high stress of their jobs with sex, drugs and assorted other vices." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the project, which has a put pilot commitment. UNTITLED SUZANNE MARTIN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Suzanne Martin ("Crowded") is back in business with the Peacock for a new single-camera comedy which "centers on a sweet, funny but lonely funeral director who decides to have a one-night stand on his birthday with his complete opposite and winds up with a big, instant, messy family." Universal Television-based Hazy Mills is behind the project with the company's Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
