DYNASTY (The CW, New!) - Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Sallie Patrick are looking to reboot Esther Shapiro and Richard Shapiro's famed 1981-1989 series about "two of America's wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. The series will be told primarily through the perspectives of two women at odds: Fallon Carrington, daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington, and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal, a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America's most powerful class." Said effort comes from CBS Television Studios with Fake Empire's Lis Rowinski also serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
HYPERION (ABC, New!) - Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters ("Marvel's Agent Carter") are developing a top secret drama at the Alphabet "based on the Disney theme park mythology." Former Disney executive-turned-producer Jason Reed also serves as an executive producer on the ABC Studios-based project with Fazekas & Butters' Robert Atwood as a producer. (Deadline.com)
MAIL ORDER FAMILY (NBC) - The Peacock has shelved its proposed comedy pilot "after the concept was met with disapproval by Asian American groups over possible stereotyping of Filipino women, triggering a Change.org petition to stop the project." (Deadline.com)
MAKING HISTORY (FOX) - Fred Armisen will guest on the midseason comedy as Nikola Tesla, "a famous, eccentric, brilliant scientist." (Variety.com)
PROBLEM WITH MEL PURVIEW, THE (Amazon, New!) - Nick Towne has sold a new drama to the streaming service billed as a "darkly humorous contemporary noir starts with a kidnapping and a semi-absent father named Mel Purview who is sucked into the highly organized criminal underworld of modern Los Angeles as he is forced by kidnappers to lead a secretive double life." Towne serves as co-executive producer with Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters of the ABC Signature-based Fazekas & Butters executive producing and Robert Atwood as a producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED DAN AHDOOT PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Comedian Dan Ahdoot has sold a new multi-camera comedy to the Eye which "centers on a recently engaged interracial couple struggling to maintain their bliss when their wildly dissimilar parents become overly involved in their lives." Ahdoot will pen the script, which is loosely based on his recent engagement, and co-executive produce for CBS Television Studios with Ryan Seacrest Productions' Ryan Seacrest, Nina Wass and Andrea Shay executive producing. (THR.com)
UNTITLED HEATH CORSON PROJECT (Freeform, New!) - Heath Corson ("Scream") has booked a potential drama at the cable channel which "follows the four Sage children, who stumbled into the magical world of Arcana 14 years ago. Now, reunited after the mysterious death of their father, the Sages must put aside their differences and come together as a family in order to confront an invasion of our world from Arcana, eager to make the siblings answer for the sins of the past." Corson serves as co-executive producer with Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters of the ABC Signature-based Fazekas & Butters executive producing and Robert Atwood as a producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED NISHA GANATRA PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Filmmaker Nisha Ganatra has sold a potential drama to the Alphabet which "explores themes of identity, the immigrant experience and the search for love through a multi-generational Indian American family." ABC Studios-based Fazekas & Butters is behind the hour with Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters as executive producers and Robert Atwood as a producer. (Deadline.com)
YEAR TO REMEMBER, A (NBC, New!) - Michael Foley ("How to Get Away with Murder") is developing a domestic take on the Argentinian telenovela, which "centers on a Boston homicide detective who's confronted by her husband over an affair she's having with her partner. In their ensuing fight, she accidentally kills him - only to wake the next day to find it's a year earlier - her husband still alive, the affair not yet begun. Given a second chance, she somehow must find a way to keep the memory of that tragic night from becoming reality." Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor; Telefe USA's Diego Piasek and Tomás Yankelevich; and Foley are the executive producers of the project, which has a penalty attached.
