CAMPING (HBO) - David Tennant is set to star opposite Jennifer Garner in the comedy series, about Walt (Tennant), "whose 45th birthday was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organized and aggressively controlling wife Kathryn (Garner). But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn's meek sister, holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited Tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won't soon be forgotten. Plus, bears." Tennant's Walt is "an obedient husband and a loving father, the reliable lynch pin of his male social group, but below that reality lurks a subtle but growing discontent about what he's just signed up for." CATCH-22 (Hulu) - Ellen Kuras has been tapped to direct two episodes of Joseph Heller's novel-turned-limited series as well as a serve as a producer. (Deadline.com)
CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL (Nickelodeon, New!) - Melissa Joan Hart is reportedly on track to star in a revival of the former 1990s staple, which featured Hart as Clarissa Darling, "a teenager who spoke directly to the audience as she dealt with problems including school, boys and family." Hart and her mother, Paula Hart, would also executive produce the project via their Hartbreak Films banner, with creator Mitchell Kriegman also in talks to return. The new series would see Clarissa "play the mother of the family." (THR.com)
CLAWS (TNT) - Sherry Cola will recur on the show's upcoming sophomore run as Lucy Chun: "One tough cookie, intimidating and threatening, this FBI special agent has her eye on the pain clinic." (Deadline.com)
CODE, THE (CBS) - Raffi Barsoumian is the latest addition to the drama pilot, in which the military's brightest minds take on our country's toughest challenges - inside the courtroom and out - where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator - and a Marine. He's set as Carlton Prickett: "Brainy, loyal and tech savvy, Prickett is attentive and quick, the Marine equivalent of a paralegal on his way to becoming a great lawyer." (Deadline.com)
DADDY ISSUES (FOX) - Gemma Allen has been tapped for a role on the single-camera comedy pilot, about single, 30-something Andi (Erin Foster), who refuses to settle down, and her friendship with her playboy dad (Don Johnson). She'll play Becca, Andi's adorable and precocious niece.
FRIENDS-IN-LAW (NBC) - James Davis ("Hood Adjacent with James Davis") is set to star in the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Brian (Devere Rogers) and Jake (Davis) who are polar opposites and must quickly figure out how to coexist when their respective best friends, Margaret (Nicole Parker) and Randy (John Gemberling), decide to get married. He'll play the aforementioned Jake, "described as handsome and a little too arrogant." (Deadline.com)
GRAND HOTEL (ABC) - Newcomer Feliz Ramirez has landed a role on the drama pilot, set against the backdrop of a Miami Beach hotel, centering around the family who owns the business, the staff who run it, and the explosive secrets they hide under the perfect exterior. She'll play Carolina, "the gorgeous and self-obsessed fraternal twin to Yoli, both stepsisters to Paloma (Denyse Tontz)." (Deadline.com)
HOW MAY WE HATE YOU (ABC) - Nicole Byer ("Loosely Exactly Nicole") is the latest addition to the Kat Dennings/Jason Michael Snow-led single-camera comedy pilot, about two inseparable guest-services associates at a high-end resort property and the co-workers and hotel guests that they're stuck with for eight to 16 hours a day. She's on board as Whitney, "an event manager at the hotel who participates in an underground female boxing league during her off hours." Her casting is in first position to the MTV-turned-Facebook Watch comedy. (Deadline.com)
IN BETWEEN LIVES (NBC) - Anne-Marie Johnson is bound for the drama pilot, about Cassie Gallagher (Harriet Dyer), a mysterious young woman who reluctantly uses her gift of clairvoyance to help Tom Hackett (yet to be cast), a veteran LAPD detective, and Damien Parrish (Yusuf Gatewood), a damaged ex-FBI outsider, solve the most unnerving and challenging cases the city encounters. She'll play Lt. Swanstrom, "the head of the LAPD homicide squad and boss of both Tom and Damien." (Deadline.com)
INFAMY (FOX) - Brian d'Arcy James and Clare O'Conner have both been tapped for the drama pilot, set in an wrongful conviction firm led by Madeline Scott (Rachelle Lefevre), a fierce and fearless female lawyer with a hunger for justice, the team reopens investigations, putting their own lives in danger to exonerate the innocent that were "proven" guilty. James will play Cole Bellows, "a hard-as-nails and tough on crime state's attorney"; while O'Connor will portray the young version of Madeline. Also cast are Francis Guinan as Jake (FKA Chuck) Scott, Madeline's salt of the earth, blue collar father; Persia White as Erin "Wren" (FKA "Rey") Reynolds, a sexy, tough inmate covered in tattoos; Shanesia Davis as Irene Boudreau, Easy's (Russell Hornsby) soon-to-be ex wife; Karin Anglin as Greta Bellows, Cole's shrewd and sexy wife; and Caitlin Mehner as Mandy (FKA Brandy) Husband, Madeline's former high-school tormentor. MAGNUM, P.I. (CBS) - Zachary Knighton has been cast as Orville "Rick" Wright on the Eye's Jay Hernandez-led reboot of the former 1980s staple. "A former door gunner with the Marines, Rick (Knighton) now runs Oahu's coolest nightclub. According to Magnum, Rick is well connected - if you want something on the island, Rick is the man to see. He is one of Magnum's friends who were all POWs in Iraq together." Larry Manetti played said role in the original series. (Deadline.com)
MILLION LITTLE THINGS, A (ABC) - Lizzy Greene is the latest to be cast in the ensemble drama pilot as Sophie Dixon, "Jon (yet to be cast) and Delilah's (Stephanie Szostak) 16-year-old daughter who loves her guitar. Sophie is a moody, goth teen with a tender vulnerability just below her tough exterior." (Deadline.com)
MIXTAPE (FOX) - Jahmil French is the latest to board the drama pilot, which looks at a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are. He'll play Dante Mendoza, Sam (yet to be cast)'s diminutive cousin, a jittery livewire (and Annette's - also yet to be cast - first born).
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Sean Maguire (Robin Hood), Victoria Smurfit (Cruella de Vil), JoAnna Garcia-Swisher (Ariel), Robbie Kay (Peter Pan), Lee Arenberg (Grumpy/Leon), Keegan Tracy (Blue Fairy/Mother Superior) and Tony Amendola (Geppetto/Marco) are among the latest to book return trips for the show's final season. PREACHER (AMC) - Jonny Coyne has been tapped to play Allfather D'Aronique in the upcoming season: "He is physically large, overweight, and a revolting slob, but also potentially the most powerful man in the world. He is quietly sinister with eyes that see more than he says." (Deadline.com)
PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: THE PERFECTIONISTS (Freeform) - Graeme Thomas King is the latest addition to the proposed spin-off as Jeremy, "a brilliant young scientist who works at Beacon Heights' prestigious Hotchkiss Technologies, and is hiding a shocking secret." (THR.com)
SKINNY DIP (The CW) - Richard Esteras has scored a role on Carl Hiaasen's book-turned-drama pilot as Earl Edward O'Toole a.k.a. Tool: "A hulk of a man, Tool is an oddly folksy kind of guy who's involved in some dark undertakings. Casual with a laissez-faire attitude, Tool also happens to be a vicious killer." (Deadline.com)
SPENCER (The CW) - Cody Christian, Monet Mazur and Michael Evans Behling have each been cast in the drama pilot, about Spencer Paysinger (yet to be cast), a rising high school football player from South Central L.A. who is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High. Christian will play Asher: "Oozing golden-boy privilege and arrogance, Asher is the current wide receiver for the Beverly Hills High football team. Despite his swagger, he has a troubled home life, and he is threatened by Spencer's untimely arrival." Mazur then will play Laura Fine-Baker, "coach Billy Baker's (Taye Diggs) wife, a powerful litigator who balances the needs of her campaign for District Attorney and her family"; with Behling as Jordan Baker, "the privileged star quarterback and team captain for Beverly Hills High's football team who's trying to live up to his father's high expectations." SUSPICION (NBC) - Sadie Calvano has booked a role on the drama pilot, about Danny Goldman (Derek Luke), who is coerced to work as an informant for the FBI after accepting a handshake loan from Tom Canter (Raul Esparza), his new friend and millionaire neighbor. She'll play the latter's daughter Tatiana Canter: "She has only just recently begun to be social and active, thanks mostly to her strong friendship with Ellie (Danny's daughter)." (Deadline.com)
THREE RIVERS (ABC) - Andrew Keenan-Bolger has been tapped for the Annaleigh Ashford/John Larroquette-led single-camera comedy pilot as Roy, "the runt of the Watts family litter who struggles to find his place with his alpha sisters. But somehow he inherited his father's confidence with the ladies. It just got put in a crummy, rashy body." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED BEN WINSTON PROJECT (CBS) - Actor Chris Parnell and director Phill Lewis are both set for the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Peter (Damon Wayans, Jr.) and Claire (yet to be cast), a young married couple whose lives are completely upended when Cooper (Felix Mallard), a young musician moves into their spare bedroom and brings with him the complications of being an up-and-coming mega pop star - sometimes even the paparazzi. He will play Wayne, "Cooper's slick, hungry, trend-conscious agent. He is always trying to find ways to make money for, and with, Cooper." (Deadline.com)
