AMBASSADOR, THE (ABC, New!) - Ilene Chaiken has scored a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama based on Ramon Campos's Spanish series "The Embassy," about "when the thrice married, very rich and politically connected US Ambassador to France is killed in a freak speedboat accident, his much younger and arguably unqualified third wife is appointed to replace him." UnbeliEVAble Entertainment's Eva Longoria and Ben Spector as well as 3 Arts Entertainment's Oly Obst will also executive produce for 20th Century Fox TV, home to Chaiken's overall deal. AMERICAN GLADIATORS (New!) - Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg as well as original producer John Ferraro are reportedly among the auspices behind a proposed new revival of the competition series. NBC was behind the most recent incarnation, which ran for two cycles in 2008. (Deadline.com)
AMERICAN HORROR STORY (FX) - Ryan Murphy has revealed Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks are all on tap for the franchise's "Apocalypse" installment. (@MrRPMurphy)
HUNT, THE (Amazon) - Nikki Toscano has been tapped as co-showrunner of the upcoming drama, which "follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City," alongside creator David Weil. (Deadline.com)
MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, THE (Amazon) - Frances Turner, Clé Bennett and Rich Ting are all bound for the show's fourth season. Turner will play the series regular role of Bell Mallory: "Bell has escaped from a Nazi concentration camp into the Japanese Pacific States, where she meets Elijah (Bennett), a militant Black nationalist. Together the couple become members of a cell in the BCR, an urban guerrilla movement dedicated to the liberation of African-Americans." Ting then will recur as Captain Iijima, "a driven, ambitious young detective in the Kempeitai and Kido's close deputy." Season three bows on October 5. (Deadline.com)
PACHINKO (Apple, New!) - Min Jin Lee's best-selling novel - which "chronicles the hopes and dreams of four generations of a Korean immigrant family" - is being developed as a potential script-to-series at the company. Soo Hugh will pen the adaptation as well as executive produce alongside Lee and Michael Ellenberg for Media Res, home to Hugh's recent two-year overall deal. (THR.com)
REPRISAL (Hulu) - Abigail Spencer has signed on to star in the drama pilot, about Katherine Harlow, "a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads." Writer Josh Corbin and director Jonathan Van Tulleken are behind the A+E Studios-based project with Barry Jossen and Warren Littlefield also serving as executive producers and Ann Johnson and Graham Littlefield as co-executive producers. SINGLE PARENTS (ABC) - Executive producer Liz Meriwether has renewed her overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV for another year. She's also behind the FOX comedy pilot "Bless This Mess," likewise from the studio. (Deadline.com)
SNOWPIERCER (TNT) - Iddo Goldberg has joined the cast of the upcoming movie-turned-TV series as Bennett, "an engineer through and through. He sees the big picture but knows the devil is in the details. As one of the original engineers who helped design the train, he is also one of the few who knows the deepest secrets of the train." TRIAL & ERROR (NBC) - The Peacock has passed on ordering a third season for the comedy series. Producer Warner Bros. TV however plans to shop the series elsewhere while the cast remains under contract. (Deadline.com)
WATCHMEN (HBO) - Dylan Schombing, Adelynn Spoon and Lily Rose Smith have all scored roles on the top secret drama pilot, based on the iconic limited comic series, in yet-to-be-revealed roles. (Deadline.com)
