AJ AND THE QUEEN (Netflix) - Izzy G (aka Izzy Gaspersz) has been tapped for the title role in the upcoming dramedy, which stars RuPaul as Ruby Red, a bigger-than-life but down-on-her-luck drag queen who travels across America from club to club in a rundown 1990's R/V with her unlikely sidekick AJ, a recently orphaned, tough-talking, scrappy 11-year-old stowaway. (Deadline.com)
ALICE (FOX, New!) - Diablo Cody and Liz Astrof are set to team for a reboot of Robert Getchell's 1974 film turned 1976-1985 multi-camera comedy, which "centers on Long Island housewife Alice Hyatt, who has finally worked up the courage to leave her cheating husband. She drives cross-country to Arizona with her teenage son Tommy, and gets a job as a waitress at a roadside diner where the staff becomes their new surrogate family." Cody's Warner Bros. TV-based Vita Vera Films is producing the project, which has a put pilot commitment. (Deadline.com)
COBRA KAI (YouTube) - Paul Walter Hauser has booked a top secret recurring role on the show's sophomore run. (Deadline.com)
FAMILY HISTORY (ABC, New!) - Deborah Schoeneman has scored a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama about "a young tech reporter in the Bay area whose life changes when she discovers a family secret via a DNA-testing web site." The project is set up at ABC Studios-based Mandeville Television with the company's David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks also executive producing. (Deadline.com)

MAN WITH A PLAN (CBS) - Jessica St. Clair will drop by two episodes of the show's upcoming third season as Kelly, "the successful and sophisticated sister of Liza Snyder's Andi. Currently living in Chicago, Kelly breezes into town under the pretense of a fancy business meeting, revealing a sibling rivalry with Andi that's hidden under passive-aggressive cheeriness." (TVLine.com)
MOVE (FOX, New!) - Silvio Horta has sold a potential drama to the network about "an accomplished choreographer who, in order to redeem her damaged reputation in the cutthroat music/dance world, sets her sights on creating a flawless tour for a diva pop singer. To get the coveted gig, though, she'll have to fend off competition from her arch rival... who happens to be her former assistant. At the same time, she must act as mother hen to her talented, but often difficult, team of dancers who depend on her." The Jackal Group-based project, which has a penalty attached, is inspired by the life of famed choreographer Laurieann Gibson. Mary J. Blige, Gail Berman and Joe Earley will executive produce alongside Horta and Gibson. Said group teamed with a different writer, Erika L. Johnson, for the similarly-themed drama "8 Count" at FOX last year. (Deadline.com)
OCTOBER FACTION (Netflix) - Maxim Roy is set to recur on the upcoming sci-fi drama as Alice Harlow, "a powerful warlock and the last of her kind. Driven by a profound sense of loss, Alice sets out to destroy those responsible for the genocide against her people, but along the way she uncovers a long-held secret that could shatter the Allen family forever." (Deadline.com)
SEARCH PARTY (TBS) - Shalita Grant is bound for the upcoming season as Cassidy, "a superficial law school grad with vocal fry and arrested development who is addicted to the fast lane. She takes on Dory's case pro-bono as a way to accelerate her career and prove herself, but soon finds herself in way over her head." (Deadline.com)
SISTERS (FOX, New!) - The network has given a put pilot commitment to a domestic take on Imogen Banks and Jonathan Gavin's Australian dramedy about "only child Julia Bechly, who finds her life turned upside down when her father is forced to reveal that over the course of his pioneering career as a fertility doctor, he used his own sperm to conceive dozens of children." Annie Weisman is penning the hour for the Universal TV-based True Jack Productions with Banks, Jason Katims, Jeni Mulein and Sharon Levy also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED GRIMM SPIN-OFF PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Melissa Glenn is spearheading a potential spin-off of the former Peacock staple which will center on a female Grimm. No other specifics were given about the project, which again comes from Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner's Universal TV-based Hazy Mills Productions. Original series creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf will serve as consulting producers. (Deadline.com)
YOU AIN'T GOT THESE (Quibi, New!) - Lena Waithe is set to team with the short-form video venture for a new series described as "Waithe's exploration of today's fashion-forward sneaker culture." The project" will highlight the subtext of race, politics, class, gender, creativity, commerce, addiction and self-expression that goes into every pair - all told through the lens of characters who define the unique subculture that is on the verge of going mainstream." Andrew Fried, Jordan Wynn, Dane Lillegard, Jonathan Hausfater and Andrew Coles are executive producing alongside Waithe for Boardwalk Pictures. (Variety.com)
