AMERICAN GODS (Starz) - Co-stars Orlando Jones and Mousa Kraish both took to social media over the weekend to confirm they will not return for the show's third season. The former categorized his exit as being fired. (@MousaKraish, @TheOrlandoJones)
BILLIONS (Showtime) - Frank Grillo is bound for the new season in the recurring role of Nico Tanner, "a modern artist." (Deadline.com)
DAYBREAK (Netflix) - Creator Aron Coleite announced via social media this evening that Netflix has canceled the series after one season. (@AronColeite)
EPIC (ABC, New!) - Brigette Hales is set to team with Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz for a new "romantic anthology series set in the fairytale universe of Disney." The project "will center on a whole new set of new heroes, villains, princes, princesses and all manner of magical beings. While it will pay homage to the classic signposts we're all familiar with from the stories we grew up with, Epic will endeavor to create a whole new batch of characters as it explores love in all its forms." Hales is writing the script with Kitsis and Horowitz likewise executive producing via their Kitsis & Horowitz Productions for ABC Signature. (Deadline.com)
LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE (Quibi, New!) - Stone & Company Entertainment is looking to revive Nickelodeon's iconic game show at the streaming service. The new incarnation "will be bigger and better as they take some of the original elements of the show and set them in a scaled-up jungle setting with tougher challenges. This includes the Moat Crossing, the iconic Temple Run and, of course, the talking Olmec statue." Scott A. Stone is executive producing. (Deadline.com)
SIDELINES, THE (FOX, New!) - Ali Larter is attached to star in a single-camera comedy for the network about "a newly separated mother of two (Larter), who, at age 40, decides to achieve her lifelong dream of becoming a professional cheerleader. Against all odds, she makes the squad for a local Detroit football team and becomes the accidental den mother to this group of scrappy, resilient young women - and rediscovers herself in the process." Kate Gersten is penning the project for FOX Entertainment, SideCar and Red Hour Productions with Larter, Gail Berman, Alissa Vradenburg, Ben Stiller, Nicky Weinstock and Jackie Cohn also among the executive producers. Author Laura Vikmanis is a consulting producer. (Deadline.com)
STAR TREK: PICARD (CBSAA) - The Patrick Stewart-led revival series has reportedly been renewed for a second season in advance of its launch next month. The news comes on the heels of said run being allocated over $20.4 million in California tax incentives. The network however has yet to confirm the pickup. (Deadline.com)
TURNER & HOOCH (Disney+, New!) - Matt Nix is spearheading a small screen take on the 1989 movie, which starred "Tom Hanks as Detective Scott Turner and Beasley the Dog as Hooch, the large, slobbery dog he reluctantly takes in following the murder of his longtime friend and the dog's owner." No specifics about the TV incarnation were given. 20th Century Fox Television is producing. ABC previously took a stab at a "Turner & Hooch" TV series in 1990 with Thomas F. Wilson in the lead role. YOU (Netflix) - The Penn Badgley-led drama is likewise expected back for its third season. The series just received $7.213 million in California tax incentives for its next proposed cycle. Season two rolls out December 26 on the streaming service. (Deadline.com)
