A WORD, THE (NBC, New!) - The network is developing a domestic take on Keren Margalit's Israeli series billed as a "character drama that explores a family's emotional journey of raising their young son with autism." Arika Mittman is penning the project for Universal Television with Margalit and Keshet Studios' Peter Traugott, Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman and Karni Ziv also slated to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
ALL RISE (CBS) - Ryan Michelle Bathé has signed a first-look development deal with ViacomCBS MTV Entertainment Group where she'll develop new series projects "with an emphasis on emerging talent and underrepresented voices." (Deadline.com)
CARL WEBER'S THE FAMILY BUSINESS (BET+) - The streamer has commissioned a third season for the drama series. Said news comes in advance of its return for the remainder of its second season on December 31. (Deadline.com)
NAOMI (The CW, New!) - The DC Comics heroine is set to be the focus of a potential series at the netlet from Ava DuVernay's Array Filmworks and Warner Bros. Television. Said effort would follow "a teen girl's journey from her small northwestern town to the heights of the multiverse. When a supernatural event shakes her hometown to the core, Naomi sets out to uncover its origins, and what she discovers will challenge everything we believe about our heroes." DuVernay and Jill Blankenship will write and executive produce with Sarah Bremner and Paul Garnes producing. (Deadline.com)
NICE WHITE PARENTS (HBO, New!) - Issa Rae and Adam McKay are set to team for a new comedy at the pay channel based on the podcast of the same name described as "a satirical look at the conflict and comedy that arise when highly resourced white parents, who claim to have the best intentions, wield their influence over generations of black and brown students within the NY public school system." HooRae's Montrel McKay, Hyperobject Industries' Todd Schulman, 3 Arts Entertainment's Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry, and Serial Productions' Chana Joffe-Walt, Julie Snyder, Alissa Shipp, and Sarah Koenig will also executive produce with Sara Rastogi producing. The search is underway for a showrunner of the project, which has a pilot commitment. (Variety.com)
OUTER RANGE (Amazon) - The Josh Brolin-led drama series has cast Lewis Pullman as Rhett Abbott, "the family's younger, more rebellious son"; Noah Reid as Billy Tillerson, "the youngest of the three Tillerson brothers"; Shaun Sipos as Luke Tillerson, "arch-rival to the neighboring Abbotts, [who] runs the day-to-day business of his family's sprawling ranching operation"; and Isabel Arraiza as Maria Olivares, who "went to high school with Rhett [and] now she's back from college, unexpectedly, and looking for more than just a fresh start." Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski and Tom Pelphrey also star. (Deadline.com)
SNOWFALL (FX) - Adrianna Mitchell has scored a recurring role on the upcoming fourth season as Tanosse, "a friend and former lover of Franklin's who has an inherent sensuality about her. She too grew up in the neighborhood but these two haven't seen each other in a while. Her older brother was a drug kingpin in the 70s and has since gone to prison for life. She has a working-class sophistication, charm and slight edge about her, but we can't quite tell if she's trustworthy." (Deadline.com)
THIS COUNTRY (FOX) - Desmin Borges will recur on the recently ordered series as Jimmy Jameson, "the rival editor to Cheryl (Aya Cash) in the town next to Flatch. Borges will join the series, currently filming in North Carolina, beginning in Episode 2." (Deadline.com)
WALKER (The CW) - Gabriela Flores is the latest set to recur on the reboot series as Isabel, "Stella's best friend, and Aura and Leonardo's only child. She and Stella have a strong bond - and they've recently gotten into some trouble with the law." (Deadline.com)
WILMORE (Peacock) - The Larry Wilmore-hosted series will come to a close with tonight's installment. "Larry has a distinct voice and point of view, which we felt was important to be part of the election conversation," said Dan Shear, EVP Comedy Development, Peacock. "From its conception, we designed Wilmore as a limited, late-night special series that would run for 10 weeks before the election and conclude once all the votes were counted. Beyond the election, we look forward to continue collaborating with Larry on more projects to bring his perspective on culture, politics and comedy to Peacock." (Deadline.com)
YOUNG SHELDON (CBS) - Filming on the series was suspended for today "after a COVID-19 test for a production team member came back positive." Producers are currently evaluating when to resume shooting next week. (Deadline.com)
