ABC earned second place to CBS during the week of January 9, 2006, among Total Viewers (11.7 million) and Adults 25-54 (4.9/11). CBS� weekly averages were boosted by its coverage of the high-rated NFL AFC Divisional Playoff game (New England-Denver) on Saturday night. ABC also took second place for the week among Adults 18-34 (3.2/9-tie), while holding the No. 1 position across the key women demographics: W18-34 (4.0/11), W18-49 (5.2/12) and W25-54 (6.1/13).

� Season to date (17 complete weeks), ABC is the only network to increase its Adult 18-49 audience over the same point a year ago (4.0/11 vs. 3.9/11). ABC is also up the most among Total Viewers, gaining 5% year to year (11.0 million vs. 10.5 million).

Rankings: ABC�s claimed 4 of the Top 10 TV programs during the week in Adults 18-49, including 3 of the Top 4: �Desperate Housewives� No. 2, �Grey�s Anatomy� � No. 3, �Lost� � No. 4 and �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� � No. 9. The Net also aired 4 of the Top 10 most-watched shows during the week: �Desperate Housewives� � No. 2, �Lost� � No. 3, �Grey�s Anatomy� � No. 5 and �Dancing With the Stars� � No. 7. In addition, �Grey�s Anatomy� stood as the No. 1 TV program of the week in Adults 18-34, �Lost� was the top draw among Teens 12-17 and �Home Edition� ranked as the No. 1 broadcast among Kids 2-11. ABC News� �20/20,� which hit season highs for the second week in a row, was TV�s No. 1 newsmagazine of the week among Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

Monday

With the first week of its post-�MNF� female targeted Monday night lineup (�Wife Swap�/�Emily�s Reasons Why Not�/�Jake in Progress�/�The Bachelor: Paris�), ABC earned second place on the night among Adults 18-34 (2.9/8), Women 18-49 (4.4/10) and Women 18-34 (3.9/10).

� ABC garnered its best numbers on the night among Women 18-49 and Women 18-34 since November � since 11/28/05.

�Wife Swap� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

ABC�s �Wife Swap� ranked No. 1 in its time period among Adults 18-49, outpacing second-place CBS by 7% (4.4/12 vs. 4.1/11). In the key sales demo, �Wife Swap� generated ABC�s strongest non-sports number with regular programming in the hour in nearly 5 years � since 1/29/01.

� �Wife Swap� delivered its strongest performance ever in the time period among Total Viewers (11.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.4/12), representing the ABC unscripted series� top numbers in more than 1 year � since 12/8/04.

�Emily�s Reasons Why Not� (9:00-9:30 p.m.)

In its series debut, �Emily�s Reasons Why Not� took second place in its half-hour among Women 18-34 (3.3/8).

�Jake in Progress� (9:30-10:00 p.m.)

On its second season premiere, ABC�s �Jake in Progress� posted its best-ever Adult 18-49 rating (2.5/6) for a regularly scheduled telecast of the show.

�The Bachelor: Paris� (10:00 -11:00 p.m.)

Building on its lead-in among viewers and young adults, ABC�s premiere of �The Bachelor: Paris� grew by 12% in Total Viewers (5.9 million to 6.6 million) and by 12% in Adults 18-49 (2.6/6 to 2.9/7) from start to finish. The ABC unscripted program earned second place in its hour among its core demographic of Women 18-34 (3.8/10).

Tuesday

�Commander In Chief� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)

Building on its lead in both viewers and young adults, ABC�s �Commander In Chief� was the second most-watched show (11.4 million) in its hour. It was the ABC drama�s first original telecast in 6 weeks (since 11/29/05).

� �Commander In Chief� increased in Total Viewers (11.1 million to 11.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/7 to 2.8/7) from its first-half hour to its second half-hour.

�Boston Legal� (10:01-11:00 p.m.)

Finishing second in its time period to NBC�s veteran drama, �Law & Order: SVU,� ABC�s �Boston Legal� defeated the second hour of CBS� �The 32nd Annual People�s Choice Awards� by 2.4 million viewers (11.2 million vs. 8.8 million) and by 6% among Adults 18-49 (3.3/9 vs. 3.1/8).

� Guest-starring Michael J. Fox, �Boston Legal� was up over its two most recent original telecasts (12/6/05 & 12/13/05), increasing by 1.5 million viewers (11.2 million to 9.7 million) and by 6% among Adults 18-49 (3.3/9 to 3.1/8) compared to its last original airing.

Wednesday

ABC ranked No. 1 on Wednesday night in Total Viewers (14.6 million), across the key adult demos (AD18-34 � 4.8/13, AD18-49 � 5.8/15 and AD25-54 � 6.9/16) and among Teens 12-17 (3.4/11). The Net outpaced second-place CBS on the evening by 2.1 million viewers and by 45% in Adults 18-49 (CBS = 12.5 million & 4.0/10).

� In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, ABC produced its strongest non-sports Wednesday in 3 months � since 9/28/05 and 10/12/05, respectively.

�Lost: Revelation� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

ABC�s telecast of �Lost: Revelation,� a clip-show of the program, put the Network into a strong first-place finish in during the opening hour of the night. ABC outpaced its nearest competition in the time period (CBS) by 5.1 million viewers (13.5 million vs. 8.4 million) and by 82% in Adults 18-49 (5.1/13 vs. 2.8/8).

�Lost� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

On its first original telecast in 6 weeks (since 11/30/05), �Lost� returned to dominate the 9 o�clock hour. ABC�s �Lost� topped second-place CBS� �Criminal Minds� by 4.7 million viewers (20.6 million vs. 15.9 million) and by 77% in Adults 18-49 (8.5/20 vs. 4.8/11).

� �Lost� has been the No. 1 TV program on Wednesday in viewers and young adults on all 10 of its original telecasts this season.

�Invasion� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

In the 10 o�clock hour, ABC�s �Invasion� took second place among Adults 18-34 (3.1/9) and Men 25-54 (4.3/11). The ABC show paced within one-tenth of a rating point of tying second-place NBC�s �Law & Order� in Adults 18-49 (3.9/10 vs. 4.0/10). The freshman ABC drama ranked No. 1 in the time period among Men 18-34 (3.1/9), Men 18-49 (3.5/9) and Teens 12-17 (2.2/8).

� �Invasion� marked its highest rating since October among Teens 12-17 � since 10/12/05.

Thursday

�Dancing with the Stars� (8:00-9:31 p.m.)

On its second telecast of its new season, ABC�s �Dancing with the Stars� continued to impress. The program ranked No. 1 during its time period among Total Viewers (17.4 million), Adults 25-54 (5.9/14) and Women 18-49 (6.3/15). The ABC unscripted series posted a solid second-place finish in the time period among Adults 18-49 (4.6/12). From start to finish, �Dancing with the Stars� gained 3.0 million viewers (15.5 million to 18.5 million) and 28% in Adults 18-49 (3.9/11 to 5.0/12).

� �Dancing with the Stars� grew slightly from its week-ago Total Viewer average (17.4 million vs. 17.3 million) in its regular 8:00-9:30 p.m. time period, while retaining virtually all of its Adult 18-49 audience (4.6/12 vs. 4.7/12).

� So far in its two broadcasts, �Dancing with the Stars� has improved the time period for ABC by 10.9 million viewers (17.4 million vs. 6.5 million) and by 109% in Adults 18-49 (4.6/12 vs. 2.2/6) from the Net�s season average with regular programming prior to its debut.

� On average, �Dancing with the Stars� represents ABC�s strongest Thursday night series in viewers and young adults in the last 6 seasons � since the 1999-00 season.

�Crumbs� (9:31-10:00 p.m.)

The series debut of ABC�s �Crumbs� outdrew NBC�s �The Office� by 1.5 million viewers (11.8 million vs. 10.3 million). In its premiere �Crumbs� boosted the half-hour for ABC by 6.3 million viewers (11.8 million vs. 5.5 million) and by 89% in Adults 18-49 (3.6/9 vs. 1.9/5) over its average with regular programming in the time period this season.

� Excluding the final half-hour of last week�s expanded �Dancing with the Stars� debut, �Crumbs� generated ABC�s largest audience in the time slot with regular programming since October 2001 � since 10/25/01. Additionally, it was ABC�s top-rated scripted series telecast in the hour among Adults 18-49 in more than 8 years � since 10/23/97.

� �Crumbs� is ABC�s most-watched comedy series premiere in nearly 2-1/2 years � since 9/23/03. It is also the third-most-watched comedy debut on any network this season, behind only NBC�s �My Name is Earl� and CBS� �Out of Practice.�

�Primetime� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

At 10:00 p.m., ABC News� �Primetime� marked its top numbers this season in Total Viewers (9.2 million), Adults 18-49 (3.0/8) and Adults 25-54 (3.8/9). In fact over the past three weeks, �Primetime� has achieved its three strongest performances this season on each count.

� ABC News� �Primetime� attracted its biggest audience since March 2004 and its highest Adult 25-54 and Adult 18-49 (tie) ratings since May 2004 � since 3/18/04 and 5/27/04, respectively.

Friday

ABC took second-place on Friday night among Total Viewers (10.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.1/9). For the second week in a row, the Net delivered the No. 1 position on the night among Adults 18-34 (2.3/8) and Women 18-34 (3.0/9).

� Posting season high numbers on the night for the second week in a row, ABC marked its most-watched non-sports Friday in almost 3 years and its best non-sports Adult 18-49 rating in nearly 2 years � since 2/7/03 and 2/6/04, respectively.

�Dancing with the Stars the Results� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

Growing from its season premiere telecast on the previous Friday (12.9 million & 3.0/9 on 1/6/06), �Dancing with the Stars the Results� again ranked No. 1 in its time period among Total Viewers (13.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.3/10). Actress Tatum O'Neal was the latest dancer to be eliminated from the competition. The ABC unscripted program was also the top draw in the hour among Adults 18-34 (2.4/8) and across each of the key women demographics: W18-34 (3.2/10), W18-49 (4.7/13) and W25-54 (5.7/14). In addition, it was the most-watched TV program on Friday.

� Starting out at higher levels than it had on its premiere in the 8:00-8:30 p.m. half-hour the prior week, �Dancing with the Stars the Results� grew by 1.3 million viewers (13.0 million to 14.3 million) and by 16% in Adults 18-49 (3.1/10 to 3.6/11) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour.

� �Dancing with the Stars the Results� generated ABC�s largest non-sports audience in hour in almost 5 years and its top non-sports Adult 18-49 number nearly 2-1/2 years � since 1/26/01 and 9/26/03, respectively.

�In Justice� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

With strong retention of week-ago series debut delivery in Total Viewers (95% - 8.7 million vs. 9.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (93% - 2.6/7 vs. 2.8/8), ABC�s �In Justice� continued to improve its time period for ABC. Compared to ABC�s performance in the hour with regular programming prior to its debut, �In Justice� has improved its time period by 3.2 million viewers (9.0 million vs. 5.8 million) and by 35% in Adults 18-49 (2.7/8 vs. 2.0/6).

�20/20� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC News� �20/20� delivered a strong second-place finish from 10:00-11:00 p.m., defeating NBC�s �The Book of Daniel� by 3.1 million viewers (10.0 million vs. 6.9 million) and by 55% in Adults 18-49 (3.4/9 vs. 2.2/6). The ABC newsmagazine won the hour among Adults 18-34 (2.6/9) and Women 18-34 (3.4/10).

� Hitting season highs for the second week in a row, �20/20� again garnered its strongest numbers since May among Total Viewers (10.0 million) � since 5/13/05. The ABC newsmagazine marked its highest Adult 25-54 (4.2/11) and Adult 18-49 (3.4/9) ratings since April � since 4/29/05.

Sunday

Opposite Fox with its NFL Playoff overrun (Panthers-Bears) leading into the highly promoted season premiere of �24,� ABC put up its highest-rated Sunday night in 6 weeks among Adults 18-49 (7.0/16) and Adults 18-34 (6.1/16) � since 12/4/05. ABC posted a strong second place on the evening among Total Viewers (16.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (7.0/16), while ranking No. 1 on Sunday across the Women demographics: W18-34 (8.1/20), W18-49 (9.1/20) and W25-54 (9.9/20).

� ABC�s �Desperate Housewives� and �Grey�s Anatomy� stood as the Top 2 TV series on Sunday night in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition � 1/15� (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

Airing opposite the Fox NFL Playoff game during the hour, a 7:00 p.m. installment of �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� stood as the No. 1 non-sports program among Adults 18-49 (3.5/9).

� �Home Edition� logged ABC�s highest Adult 18-49 rating in the time slot in 7 weeks � since 11/27/05.

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

Against the conclusion of the NFL game leading into the season premiere of �24� on Fox in the time period, ABC�s �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� placed a competitive second among viewers (15.5 million) and young adults (6.4/14). �Home Edition� delivered the No. 1 position in the 8 o�clock hour in each of the key women demographics (W18-34 � 6.5/16, W18-49 � 7.5/17 and W25-54 � 8.3/17) and among Kids 2-11 (4.3/14).

�Desperate Housewives� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)

The No. 1 TV program of the night, ABC�s �Desperate Housewives� moved ABC into a dominant first place during the 9 o�clock hour among viewers and young adults. The ABC sophomore defeated Fox�s �24� during the hour by 6.9 million viewers (22.5 million vs. 15.6 million) and by 40% in Adults 18-49 (9.5/20 vs. 6.8/14).

�Grey�s Anatomy� (10:01-11:00 p.m.)

Capitalizing on its lead-in, ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� delivered a convincing win during the 10 o�clock hour. In its time period, �Grey�s� outdrew second-place CBS by 4.7 million viewers (19.0 million vs. 14.3 million) and beat the combined deliveries of CBS and NBC by 39% in Adults 18-49 (8.6/20 vs. 6.2/14 � CBS and NBC together). The ABC drama garnered its strongest numbers in 6 weeks among viewers and young adults � since 12/4/05.

� �Grey�s Anatomy� turned in series� best retention of an original �Desperate Housewives� lead-in among Total Viewers (84%) and Adults 18-49 (91%). The program built slightly on its lead-in among Adults 18-34 (8.3/21 vs. 8.1/19).
