AMERICAN HORROR STORY (FX) - Dylan McDermott ("Dark Blue") has been tapped as the male lead on the drama pilot, about Ben Harmon (McDermott), "a handsome and masculine but sensitive therapist who loves his family but has hurt his wife, and Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton), his gorgeous wife who is a force to be reckoned with." Full details about the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, however have yet to be released. Jessica Lange and Denis O'Hare co-star while Murphy himself is set to direct. Additionally, FX is also reportedly making a deal with McDermott to develop, write and potentially star in another series project for the network. Britton likewise has her own potential series in the works at the cable channel.
THE DICOCCO BROTHERS (USA, New!) - Ed Cannistraci has booked a script commitment from the cable channel for a potential single-camera comedy about "an aspiring dot-com entrepreneur who moves to Silicon Valley with his Jersey family in tow." Said half-hour, which is set up at Kelsey Grammer's Grammnet Productions, is based on a story by Cannistraci and his brother Chris. Grammer, Brian Sher and Stella Stolper then will executive produce alongside Cannistraci.
ROYAL PAINS (USA) - Ed Asner ("Working Class") has booked a two-episode arc on the show's upcoming third season. He'll play Ted Roth, the grandfather of Hank (Mark Feuerstein) and Evan (Paulo Costanzo). Additional details however weren't released. "Pains" returns Wednesday, June 29 at 9:00/8:00c.
