GO ON (NBC) - John Cho ("A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas") has been upped to series regular on the upcoming Matthew Perry-led comedy, about an irreverent yet charming sportscaster, who after his wife dies, finds surprising solace from the members of his support group. Cho guest starred in the pilot as Ryan's boss who refuses to put him back on the air until he seeks counseling. Julie White, Bill Cobbs, Suzy Nakamura and Allison Miller also star in the half-hour, which is due on Tuesday nights this fall. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Robert Patrick will guest on "True Blood" as the father of Joe Manganiello's Alcide Herveaux (True-Blood.net); HBO has had "some conversations" about a potential "Bored to Death" telefilm following the show's cancellation in December (Vulture.com); Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan has joined the cast of "Smash" as "a very sexy (and straight) Brooklyn-born singer with a self-destructive streak" (TVLine.com); incoming "Body of Proof" executive producer Evan Katz has inked an overall deal with ABC Studios where he'll take over for Sunil Nayar as showrunner (Deadline.com); Meghan Ory's Red Riding Hood has been upped to series regular on "Once Upon a Time" (Deadline.com); "Homeland" co-executive producer Chip Johannessen has signed a two-year overall deal with producer Fox 21's parent company, 20th Century Fox Television, where he'll be upped to executive producer (Deadline.com); Brad Turner and Timothy J.
