Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: FOX Pulls in Front with "Hell's Kitchen"

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

FOX (3.823 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) pulled in front on Thursday thanks to a new "Hell's Kitchen" (5.380 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T1) and the season finale of "Does Someone Have to Go?" (2.266 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

CBS (6.241 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then took home the silver with its repeat lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (7.865 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T1), "Two and a Half Men" (6.044 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3), "Person of Interest" (6.480 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and "Elementary" (5.289 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

Next up was ABC (4.602 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with the post-NBA return of "Wipeout" (3.697 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6), "Motive" (5.017 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and "Rookie Blue" (5.093 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4).

Meanwhile, NBC (2.346 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up its second run mix of "Parks & Recreation" (2.141 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), another "Parks & Recreation" (1.758 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), "The Office" (1.643 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), another "The Office" (1.818 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) and "America's Got Talent" (3.358 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6).

And finally, rebroadcasts of "The Vampire Diaries" (0.799 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) and "Beauty and the Beast" (0.588 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16) closed out the evening over on The CW (0.694 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Diaries" delivered a 0.3 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Beast" a 0.2 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.4/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.5/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/3; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore telecast) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/28/12):

CBS (6.54 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) was the most-watched network on Thursday despite its all-repeat lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (7.66 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1), "2 Broke Girls" (6.10 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4), "Person of Interest" (6.53 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6) and "The Mentalist" (6.20 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6).

ABC (4.99 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) however split the demo crown with its mix of "Duets" (4.23 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9), the return of "Wipeout" (5.89 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2) and "Rookie Blue" (4.85 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6).

Next up was FOX (2.61 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with originals from "Take Me Out" (2.32 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9) and "The Choice" (2.90 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5).

Meanwhile, NBC (4.33 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up its "U.S. Olympic Team Trials" (6.16 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) followed by new episodes of "Saving Hope" (3.29 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12) and "Rock Center With Brian Williams" (3.52 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11).

And finally, a new "Breaking Pointe" (0.87 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) and a repeat of "The Vampire Diaries" (0.65 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) on The CW (0.76 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) rounded out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Pointe" posted a 0.4 rating while "Diaries" delivered a 0.3 rating.
