Netflix Announces Fictional Miniseries About The 1970 Championship
Inspired by real events, the miniseries will dive into the challenges, passions, and fears that accompanied players such as Pelé, Tostão, Félix, Carlos Alberto, Jairzinho, Gérson, and Rivellino, as well as coach Zagallo, during the preparation and competition of the tournament.

DESCRIPTION:
(from Netflix's press release, February 2025) Netflix and 02 Filmes are teaming up to launch a new fictional miniseries about the great players who led the Brazilian national football team to their third championship victory in the 1970 international tournament. Directed by Pedro Morelli and Paulo Morelli and created by Naná Xavier and Rafael Dornellas, the production will recreate iconic moments from the tournament and reveal the human side of sports legends who made history both on and off the field. |
