(from A&E's press release, March 2026) Anchored by exclusive interviews with John Gotti Jr. and his son John Gotti III, "The Gotti Files" pulls back the curtain on one of the most powerful and polarizing families in American history. Using rare home movies, hundreds of hours of prison and wiretap audio and video, court documents, and unprecedented access, the series traces the rise, fall, and enduring legacy of John Gotti Sr. and the Gambino Family. Spanning three generations, the series explores themes of family, loyalty, and survival with a particular focus on John Gotti III's determination to forge his own path outside the shadow of a world-famous name, as well as the powerful influence of matriarch Kim and the Gotti daughters, who championed love, education, and an alternative future. The series also examines how government may have played a role in shaping the Gotti narrative, raising questions about power, media and government manipulation, and the cost of becoming a target in one of the most aggressive eras of American law enforcement. Each episode focuses on a pivotal moment in the Gotti family saga, revealing how honor, identity, and legacy have weighed heavily on their personal journeys. |
