(from History's press release, March 2026) The HISTORY Channel(TM) is betting big with the greenlight of its new 10-episode nonfiction series "History's Strange Fortunes with Kevin Bacon" (working title), hosted and executive produced by the multi award-winning actor and A+E Factual Studios(TM) group in association with VaynerWATT. Stories about money - money made, money lost, and money spent - are woven into the fabric of our nation's history. From a famous rock-and-roll singer who spent $50,000 on a late-night snack, to a lucky gold miner who unearthed a nugget worth nearly $1 million, to an epic heist that turned a circus hypnotist into an infamous con artist, the series explores some of the most unbelievable, yet true financial tales ever recorded. |
