(from National Geographic Channel's press release, March 2016) National Geographic Channel (NGC) announced today that visionary Mexican filmmaker Everardo Gout ("Days of Grace") has been tapped to direct the network's six-hour documentary-scripted hybrid miniseries, MARS. The program, executive produced by Academy Award and Emmy-winning producers Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Michael Rosenberg of Imagine Entertainment; and Justin Wilkes, Jon Kamen and Dave O'Connor of RadicalMedia, is currently in production. Gout will also serve as an executive producer on the series. Principal photography on the scripted portions of the series is set to start shooting this spring in Budapest and Morocco, with a premiere set for fall 2016.
