RELEASED (A&E)
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY:
7/15/05
STATUS:
previously in development (2005-2006 season)
DEVELOPMENT STAGE:
ordered to pilot
DESCRIPTION:
(from A&E's press release) A man has just served 5 years for a crime he didn't commit, because his niece mistakenly fingered him as the intruder -- will the family accept him with open arms, or will they still believe he was responsible? In the sprit of A&E’s THE FIRST 48, RELEASED will focus on the critical first 24 hours after an inmate is released, experiencing those tension-filled hours that will make or break the former inmate's life on the outside. Many are released without money or prospects, and without a loving family to return to. RELEASED offers an intimate look at one of the most dramatic experiences in the criminal justice system -- where everything hinges on those first 24 hours, when anything is possible and the slate is still clean.
