A horrific story of domestic abuse... for 10 years Polly Mitchell was imprisoned in her own home by her husband. She says he beat her and raped her repeatedly, even while their children were in the house. So how could this happen for so long and how did she finally break free? Mitchell opens up about her plight to ABC News Correspondent Don Dahler, beginning from when she was a naove 17-year-old. "Most people that I talk to ask me, why didn't you just leave? And they don't understand the psychological hold that he had," she tells Dahler. The startling report airs on "20/20" FRIDAY, AUGUST 13 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
And: ABC News Correspondent Jami Floyd takes a look at the latest wave in hair straightening strategies. Straight from Japan, thermal reconditioning (TR) is considered revolutionary by industry insiders but it costs hundreds of dollars and can take hours. Is TR too good to be true?
Plus: John Stossel finds that size does matter, at least when you're counting calories and you see what is supposed to be a single serving. Stossel says "Give Me a Break" to foods whose small serving sizes leave you hungry and wanting more.
ABCNEWS.com, the 24-hour news service of ABC News and part of the ABC Internet Group, will provide companion programming to the broadcast.
