"Viva Las Vegas" -- A wild night in Las Vegas has the CSIs simultaneously investigating four fatalities, on the fifth-season premiere of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, Thursday, Sept. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Danny Cannon directed the episode written by Carol Mendelsohn & Danny Cannon, two of the series' executive producers.
Reiko Aylesworth ("24") guest stars as the new DNA tech replacing Greg Sanders, who starts his new position in the field. French Stewart ("3rd Rock From the Sun") guest stars as a suspect in Sara's and Nick's investigation.
Greg Sanders' first day in the field has him assisting Grissom's investigation of a fatal nightclub shooting. Meanwhile, Catherine probes into the death of a stripper found in a Las Vegas hotel suite. Across town, Warrick is called to an apartment building to investigate possible foul play in the death of a man found electrocuted in his bathtub. Lastly, Nick and Sara investigate a body found buried wearing an alien costume near Area 51. Back in the lab, Greg Sanders' replacement, Chandra, (Aylesworth), is overwhelmed by the fast-paced world of the CSIs.
CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, the Emmy-nominated, number one scripted series on television, is a fast-paced drama about a passionate team of forensic investigators trained to solve crimes the old-fashioned way -- by examining the evidence. They are on the case 24/7, scouring the scene, collecting the irrefutable evidence and finding the missing pieces that will solve the mystery. Gil Grissom (Petersen), the senior forensics officer, heads the team of investigators at the Criminalistics Bureau in Las Vegas. The team includes single parent Catherine Willows (Helgenberger), who juggles a job she loves with the responsibilities of motherhood; Warrick Brown (Dourdan), a top analyst with insider knowledge of the gambling world; Nick Stokes (Eads), a sensitive yet ambitious crime-solver, and Sara Sidle (Fox), a dedicated and inquisitive investigator who shares a past with Grissom. The CSI team members also work closely with Capt. Jim Brass (Guilfoyle), their former chief now assigned to Homicide; Greg Sanders (Szmanda), the wacky tech analyst turned field investigator, and medical examiner Dr. Albert Robbins (Hall).
CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION is produced by CBS Productions and Alliance Atlantis Communications, in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Jerry Bruckheimer, Ann Donahue, Carol Mendelsohn, Anthony Zuiker, Jonathan Littman, Danny Cannon, Naren Shankar, Cynthia Chvatal and William Petersen are the executive producers.
