NEW YORK -- Nov. 17, 2004 -- "Dateline NBC" presents "Tom Brokaw: Eyewitness to History," a two-hour special that explores the most significant events and social trends of the last 40 years, focusing on Brokaw's eyewitness role as reporter and anchor. Includes interviews with Brokaw and other big newsmakers and eyewitnesses to the major events of the last 40 years. To be broadcast on Friday, Nov. 26 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET).
The special includes:
� Highlights from Brokaw's career at NBC, from when NBC News hired him in 1966 through the last two and half decades as anchor and managing editor of "NBC Nightly News."
� Interviews with newsmakers and eyewitnesses to the most significant events over the last 40 years, including: Mikhail Gorbachev, President George Bush (41), General Norman Schwarzkopf, Ron Reagan and Patti Davis, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, NBC's Tim Russert, Bill Cosby, Rudolph Guliani, Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell, Hillary Clinton, Tom Hanks and Tom and Meredith Brokaw, and many others.
� Brokaw's reflections and behind-the-scenes stories on the major news events that had a large impact on his career - from the 1968 election to the war in Iraq.
