Also joining O'Brien on the broadcast as co-host will be MTV's Vanessa Minnillo.
The special, which will originate from the field at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., site of Super Bowl XXXIX, will pit the best Super Bowl commercials throughout the years against the best television ads the world has to offer, with the group selected by viewers to have the best commercials Super Bowl or the world to be revealed live at the conclusion of the broadcast.
Beginning today, Friday, Jan. 21, viewers will able to log onto www.cbs.com to view and vote for their favorite commercials from the Super Bowl and from around the world in various categories, such as favorite sexy ads, favorite sports spots, favorite classic commercials, favorite ads featuring kids and animals and favorite "miscellaneous" commercials those memorable spots that don't fit into any of the other categories. Each category will feature three commercials representing the Super Bowl and three from around the world.
The online polls will close the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 1; beginning that day on www.cbs.com, viewers can then watch montages of the best commercials: one for the Super Bowl and one for the world.
The special will include the favorite commercials in each category, based on the results of the official viewers' poll at www.cbs.com. During the broadcast of the special, voting will re-open online and viewers will be able to select which group of commercials they liked the best overall those from the Super Bowl or those from around the world and the result will be given live at the conclusion of the show.
