"The First Cut is the Deepest" - The surgical staff tries to be optimistic as a young woman clings to life after a brutal attack. Meanwhile Meredith puts her career on the line to save a newborn in the hospital nursery, and the other interns learn that it takes more than just medical knowledge to be good at their jobs, on "Grey's Anatomy," SATURDAY, APRIL 9 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Knight as George O'Malley, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey and James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber.

Kate Burton guest stars as Ellis Grey. Co-starring are Alice Lo as Qing Lu, Scarlett Lam as Ahn, Robin Pearson Rose as Patricia, Kerry Carney as intern no. 1, Dennis Gubbins as Paul, Kerri Higuchi as peds intern, Stephen Blackehart as Vic, Stacey R. Hinnen as Mr. Johnson, Elise Robertson as Ms. Johnson, Kylie Dragna as Ellen Parkins, Gary Kraus as Louis Cardon, Sonia Jackson as patient no. 1, Walter Wong as tech, Scott Michael Morgan as patient no. 2, Cindy Drummond as Louis' wife and Jeff Marlow as the drunk man.

"The First Cut is the Deepest" was written by Shonda Rhimes and directed by Peter Horton.

"Grey's Anatomy" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.
