Following the advice of his dying father, Hal Larson (Jack Black) dates only physically beautiful women until he's hypnotized by self-help guru Tony Robbins (Anthony Robbins) into recognizing only the inner beauty of women. When Hal meets Rosemary Shanahan (Gwyneth Paltrow), an obese woman whom only he can see as a vision of loveliness, he falls in love. But will their relationship survive when Hal's equally shallow friend Mauricio Wilson (Jason Alexander) undoes the hypnosis?
