STOCKARD CHANNING, HENRY WINKLER, CHRISTOPHER GORHAM, PAULA MARSHALL, TY BURRELL AND JENNIFER TILLY STAR IN "OUT OF PRACTICE," A NEW COMEDY SERIES ABOUT A FAMILY OF PHYSICIANS WHO SHARE THE SAME PROFESSION BUT HAVE LITTLE ELSE IN COMMON, PREMIERING SEPT. 19 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

New Series from Joe Keenan and Christopher Lloyd, the Executive Producers of "Frasier"

Stockard Channing, Henry Winkler, Christopher Gorham, Paula Marshall, Ty Burrell and Jennifer Tilly star in OUT OF PRACTICE, a new comedy series about a family of physicians who share the same profession but have little else in common. The series premieres Monday, Sept. 19 (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Multiple Emmy Award-winner Kelsey Grammer directed the episode from a script by the series' executive producers Joe Keenan and Christopher Lloyd.

OUT OF PRACTICE is a comedy about a family of physicians who share the same profession but have little else in common. Ben Barnes is an earnest young couples' counselor whose family doesn't consider him to be a "real" doctor because he doesn't have "M.D." after his name. They're the real doctors: Ben's brother, Oliver is good-looking, self-centered and a plastic surgeon who enjoys dating the prettiest women in town, some of whom he helped make that way; and his sister Regina is an E.R. doctor who's hooked on the non-stop action there. Their divorcing parents are Stewart, a gastroenterologist who is glad to be free from the reins of his controlling wife, and Lydia, a driven, status conscious cardiologist whose career eclipsed her ex's years ago. But despite their lofty credentials, Ben might be the best prescription for the future of this family.

In the premiere episode, Ben uses his 30th birthday as an excuse to invite his whole family to dinner in an effort to keep them close as his parents go through a divorce. But while Ben is getting a bottle of wine and, at the same time, accidentally meeting his father's new girlfriend, the rest of the family inadvertently overhears an ominous message from Ben's activist wife, Naomi, about the future of their marriage.

Stockard Channing has received two Emmy Awards plus nine nominations, an Oscar nomination, two SAG Awards and two SAG Award nominations. Channing earned her Oscar nomination and one of her Golden Globe nominations when she reprised her Tony-nominated performance in the film version of "Six Degrees of Separation." For the film "Smoke" she received a SAG Award nomination. She won a People's Choice Award for her role in "Grease.

Channing's stage credits include "House of Blue Leaves" for which she received a Tony Award nomination, "Four Baboons Adoring the Sun," "The Little Foxes," "Hapgood," "Woman in Mind," "The Rink," "The Golden Age," "The Lion in Winter," "They're Playing Our Song" and the original production of "Love Letters." She won a Tony Award for her work in "Joe Egg," as well as Drama Desk Award nomination. Channing received both an Emmy Award and a SAG Award for her portrayal of the mother of a gay hate-crime victim in "The Matthew Shepard Story." Her Emmy nominations include: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for "The West Wing," Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for "The Baby Dance," Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Special for "An Unexpected Family," "Perfect Witness" and "Echoes in the Darkness" and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for "Road to Avonlea." Channing won a 2005 Daytime Emmy Award for her role in the television movie "Jack."

Henry Winkler is an actor, producer and director whose work has won the attention of audiences and critics worldwide. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Fonzie in the seventies TV hit "Happy Days," which garnered him the status of pop culture icon, as well as two consecutive Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy Series and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is the recipient of the United Nations Peace Prize and has received France's highest civilian honor, the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Winkler has starred in numerous other television projects including: "Arrested Development," "Crossing Jordan" "and "The Practice" for which he also received an Emmy nomination. Most recently he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer for his work on "Clifford's Puppy Days." In addition to his acting credits, Winkler is a successful producer and director. He produced the series "MacGyver," "Sightings," two years of "Hollywood Squares," the "Dallas Reunion" and the "Happy Days Reunion" among many others. His directing credits include the feature film "Cop and �" starring Burt Reynolds.

Christopher Gorham's television credits include the title character in the action-adventure drama "Jake 2.0," the cult hit "Popular," the acclaimed sci-fi series "Odyssey 5," and most recently "Medical Investigation." Gorham has also had recurring roles on both "Felicity" and "Party of Five." His notable guest star appearances include the series "CSI," "Without a Trace," both on the Network, "Boomtown" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Gorham's feature film credits include Danny Boyle's "A Life Less Ordinary" with Ewan McGregor and Cameron Diaz, and "The Other Side of Heaven" opposite Anne Hathoway.

Paula Marshall's television career began with a guest-starring role on the series "Seinfeld." Her additional television credits include "Hidden Hills," "Snoops," "Spin City," "Cupid" and "Chicago Sons." Her feature film credits include "Cheaper By The Dozen" with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, "That Old Feeling" with Bette Midler, "A Family Thing" with Robert Duvall and "The New Age" with Judy Davis and Peter Weller.

Ty Burrell's film credits include "Evolution," "Black Hawk Down," "Dawn of the Dead" and "In Good Company." His extensive theater credits include the highly acclaimed Signature Theatre Off-Broadway production of "Burn This," in which he starred opposite Edward Norton, Catherine Keener and Dallas Roberts. In 2004, he starred as Lord Buckingham in The Public Theatre's production of "Richard III" opposite Peter Dinklage. Burrell has three upcoming movies: "Friends with Money" starring Jennifer Aniston, "Darwin Awards" and "Down in the Valley" with Edward Norton. Burrell is currently in production on the film "Fur" with Nicole Kidman and Robert Downey Jr.

Academy Award nominee Jennifer Tilly's extensive feature film credits include "The Fabulous Baker Boys" with Jeff and Beau Bridges; Woody Allen's "Bullets over Broadway," for which she earned her nomination; "Liar, Liar" with Jim Carrey, as well as "High Spirit," "The Doors," Made in America" and the cult hits "Bride of Chucky" and "Seed of Chucky." Tilly is also well known for her vocal work. She played Celia in "Monsters Inc." and Grace in "Home on the Range." Her upcoming films include "St. Ralph," "Bailey's Billions" with Tim Curry and Terry Gilliam's "Tideland." Tilly's television credits include "Family Guy," "Cheers," "Moonlighting," "It's Garry Shandling's Show" and "Frasier." She had a recurring role on "Hill Street Blues" and was a series regular on "Shaping Up" and "Key West." Tilly was awarded the Theater World Award for her performance in off-Broadway's "One Shoe Off," and starred on Broadway in the 2001 revival of "The Women" (which was later taped for, and broadcast on, PBS). Most recently, Tilly beat out over 600 competitors to become the first celebrity ever in the history of the World Series of Poker to win a coveted gold bracelet.
