"Trees Made of Glass" -- Dr. Caffrey and her team must investigate a chilling situation when the crew of a U.S. Naval cargo freighter is terrorized by a signal from a mysterious craft that lands in the mid-Atlantic Ocean, on a rebroadcast of the premiere episode of THRESHOLD, Friday, Oct. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. David Heyman, David S. Goyer and Brannon Braga are the executive producers. (Originally broadcast 9/16/05)

Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey (Carla Gugino) is a government contingency analyst whose job is to devise response plans for worst-case scenarios. In a single instant, her life changes when one of those plans -- THRESHOLD -- is activated by Deputy National Security Advisor J.T. Baylock (Charles S. Dutton) when it's discovered that the crew of the Big Horn, a U.S. Naval cargo freighter, has been put in danger by a mysterious signal emanating from a strange craft that has landed in the mid-Atlantic Ocean. Armed only with her hypothetical strategy to address an unprecedented occurrence, Dr. Caffrey now finds herself thrust in the midst of a global crisis. Now, to help her investigation, Dr. Caffrey hand-picks a team of eclectic specialists to help execute her plan: microbiologist Dr. Nigel Fenway (Brent Spiner), physicist Lucas Pegg (Rob Benedict), language and math expert Arthur Ramsey (Peter Dinklage), and covert operative Cavennaugh (Brian Van Holt).

Once it's discovered that most of the ship's men have perished or disappeared except for one, First Mate Gunneson (William Mapother), they observe him and study his strange behavior until he jumps overboard. Meanwhile, Dr. Caffrey, Cavennaugh and Pegg discover a video of the craft that emits a loud noise that causes them to have a severe physical reaction, and it is then that they realize they've made first contact with an unexplainable force and must now follow Caffrey's contingency plan to the letter.
