"Pilot" -- Ted meets Robin in a neighborhood bar, immediately becomes smitten and even scores a first date, on a rebroadcast of the premiere episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Monday, Oct. 31 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The episode was directed by Pamela Fryman from a script by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, two of the series' executive producers. (Originally broadcast 9/19/05)

When Robin must leave in the middle of the date, Ted can hardly wait to see her again, and his eagerness threatens to scare her away. Ted realizes Robin may not be as easy to catch as he had hoped, and it becomes apparent that he may have to meet a few more women before he finds his true love.
