�Pilot� � While at an official ceremony, Mackenzie Allen (Geena Davis), the 45-year-old Independent Vice President of the United States, is informed that the President is about to undergo emergency brain surgery for a tumor. She is further stunned when she�s told that, in the event the President does not recover, the party doesn�t want her to succeed him, but rather to step down in order to allow the Speaker of the House, Nathan Templeton (Donald Sutherland), to assume the post. Despite having this confirmed by the dying President himself and intense pressures from all around her � not least the Speaker -- Mackenzie decides to forge ahead and assume the office, opening an almost unimaginable new chapter in her own life and in the lives of her husband, Rod Calloway (Kyle Secor), and their children, Rebecca, Horace and Amy. �Commander In Chief� airs TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6 (9:00 -10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
