"Purple Giraffe" -- Ted hosts a series of parties at his apartment in an attempt to spend some time with Robin in a more casual setting, on a rebroadcast of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Monday, Dec. 26 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Pamela Fryman directed the episode written by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, two of the series' executive producers. (Originally broadcast 9/26/05)

After his disastrous first date with Robin, Ted tries to show her how casual he can be by throwing a party. However, when Robin doesn't show, Ted extends the party over three consecutive nights, giving Robin a chance to attend. Meanwhile, Lily can't get enough of her new fianc�, Marshall.
