BODE'S & APOLO'S LAST CHANCE TO CLAIM TORINO GOLD SATURDAY ON NBC
BODE'S & APOLO'S LAST CHANCE TO CLAIM TORINO GOLD ON SATURDAY, DAY 16 OF THE TORINO GAMES
TORINO, Italy--Feb. 24, 2006--Bode Miller and Apolo Ohno have their last chance to claim Torino gold during NBC's Saturday primetime coverage beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Live coverage of the men's bronze medal hockey game between the Czech Republic and Russia begins at 1 p.m. ET on NBC. NBC's Torino Olympic coverage continues Saturday on NBC, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC HD and Universal HD.
One last chance for Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, N.H.) to medal in Torino as the alpine competition concludes with a final confrontation in the slalom between Miller and the primary challenger for the title of world's best skier, Austria's Benni Raich.
It's a double dose of Seattle's Apolo Anton Ohno, who will attempt to sprint for gold in the frenetic 500m, and lead Team USA to victory in the wildest event of the short track competition, the men's relay.
"In this race, Apolo's strengths are his start and explosiveness, but he will need to skate a defensive track in order to hold South Korea's Ahn Hyun-Soo and Lee Ho-Suk off from passing. My prediction is that Ahn and Ohno will be fighting for gold. The key will be whether or not Apolo will be able to hold Ahn off in the last two laps, said NBC's short track analyst Dan Weinstein.
