KEITH BARRY: EXTRAORDINARY, a primetime special featuring magician and psychological illusionist Keith Barry, will be broadcast Friday, May 12 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The special will feature Barry displaying his vast range of magic skills as he demonstrates his intuitive capabilities and amazing talents on stars such as singer/actor Jessica Simpson; actors Matthew McConaughey, Wilmer Valderrama, Elijah Wood, Nicollette Sheridan, Vivica A. Fox, Regina King and Tichina Arnold from the UPN hit comedy "Everybody Hates Chris;" supermodel Rachel Hunter; rap superstar; actor and designer Eve from the UPN comedy "Eve;" and CBS's David Krumholtz ("Numb3rs").
In the special, Barry performs such outrageous stunts as the $1 Million Card Challenge, where he gambles $1 million on a card trick with Vivica A. Fox, Tichina Arnold and Regina King, and mind control effects where he takes command of Matthew McConaughey, Wilmer Valderrama and Jessica Simpson's minds with amazing results. He also uses hypnosis to instantly induce memory loss in "Entertainment Tonight's" Jann Carl and Mark Steines, causing them to completely forget two minutes of their lives. In Beyond Belief, he performs a death-defying public hanging and drives while blindfolded on a public road with Eve and Nicole Scherzinger, lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls.
Barry, already a popular talent in his native Ireland, has become a Hollywood force to be reckoned with over the past two years. Fueled by the success of his 2004 MTV Spring Break special, his live stage show, "Brainwashed," debuted with 34 sold-out shows throughout Europe in January 2005, and was later showcased at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. Last year, Barry performed his live show at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas for their 10th Anniversary celebration as part of an all-star lineup that included Coldplay, Bon Jovi and Nine Inch Nails. His television shows have been broadcast in more than 26 countries.
