Life becomes difficult for Wyatt (Scott) and his partner John Sack Hallon (Omari Hardwick Beauty Shop, Sucker Free City) after their new supervisor, Kroll (Curtis Caravaggio Earthsea), decides to install black boxes in each of the ambulances, as a way to keep track of every move the paramedics make. And as Sack struggles to maintain two jobs one as a bodyguard in order to pay for his sons expensive private school tuition, Wyatt desperately tries to save the life of Lexi, the young transplant patient in desperate need of a new liver.
Meanwhile at the hospital, Alice (Elizabeth Reaser The Family Stone) tries to help an elderly woman suffering from dementia who repeatedly mistakes Wyatt for her dead husband. Paramedic Angela de la Cruz (Tracy Vilar The Steve Harvey Show, ER) gets jealous after newbie EMT Harper Sims (Michael McMillian What I Like About You, Firefly) is interviewed on the local news. But the televised interview reveals some surprising details about Harpers feelings towards his partner and mentor.
