Season Will Feature a Grand Prize Giveaway to Three Magical Disney Destinations
�Episode No. 1701� � �America�s Funniest Home Videos� kicks off its 17th season with all-new animal antics, practical jokes and hilarious footage of what happens when adults, children and even inanimate objects are at their spontaneous best. The season premiere will also mark the beginning of a year-long promotion, the �AFV Dream Vacation Sweepstakes,� with magical Disney vacations awarded throughout the year, and a final Grand Prize dream vacation to three Disney destinations awarded in the season finale. �AFV,� hosted by Tom Bergeron, makes its season premiere SUNDAY, OCT. 1 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television.
Videos included in the season premiere: One really smart dog figures out how to open his own can of food; Cats � the musical (montage), with felines at their funniest set to music; a sky-diving man who freaks out before he makes the big leap, and Tom�s Home Movies. �America�s Funniest Home Videos� will also debut a stunning new look with the season premiere. The new set will include an LCD floor (all the better to see those great videos) and a plasma wall.
Three times a year, �AFV� awards $100,000 cash grand prizes for the best video submission. For each of the shows awarding $100,000 cash prizes to video contestants, viewers at home can enter the �AFV Dream Vacation Sweepstakes� for a chance to win a magical Disney vacation. One trip will be awarded during each of these three $100,000 episodes. This season�s vacation trips will be a Disney Cruise Line� Mediterranean Cruise Vacation for four; a Disney Cruise Line� 7-Night Land and Sea Vacation for four; and a magical vacation to Walt Disney World� Resort in Florida and Disneyland� Resort in California for four, where Disney is celebrating The Year of a Million Dreams.
Walt Disney World � Resort and the Disneyland � Resort are celebrating Disney vacation dreams and the magical way Disney cast members, through their renowned heritage of personal guest service, can make them come true.
When �AFV� has its season finale in 2007, the three $100,000 video prize winners will return to the show to compete for the ultimate Disney dream vacation Grand Prize for four. The Grand Prize vacation begins at the Disneyland� Resort with a stay in the new Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel. Next, the lucky winner will sail away aboard a Disney Cruise Line� ship to the Bahamas and Disney�s Castaway Cay. Final destination will be a trip to the Walt Disney World� Resort, where the winner will spend a night in the newly-created Cinderella Castle Suite inside the Magic Kingdom� Park. In addition to the video prize winner, one lucky viewer entrant will also be selected to win this vacation of a lifetime.
Beginning October 15, viewers can enter the �AFV Dream Vacation Sweepstakes� on abc.com. Viewers can enter each of the four �AFV� sweepstakes throughout the year. No purchase necessary.
