IDENTIFY AS HUMAN, ON ABC'S "MASTERS OF SCIENCE FICTION"

"The Awakening" � A U.S. military specialist ("Lost's" Terry O'Quinn) is called up from retirement to investigate after soldiers outside Baghdad discover a mysterious casualty� one they can't even identify as human. As he and his team try to identify the "corpse," others begin to appear, making him wonder whether the fallen creatures are emissaries from another world, on "Masters of Science Fiction," SATURDAY, AUGUST 11 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Elisabeth Rohm ("Law & Order") also stars. William B. Davis ("The X-Files") guest stars as the President of the United States.
"The Awakening" stars Terry O'Quinn as Skynner, Elisabeth Rohm as Lt. Granger, Julian Christopher as General Mackenzie, William B. Davis as the President, Malcolm Stewart as Col. Dingham, Doron Bell as Kirby, Samir El Sharkawi as the Iraqi, Dan Lantaigne as army officer #1, Adrian McMorran as the medic, Dean Marshall as the general's aide and Hiro Kanagawa as Captain Oguchi.
Michael Petroni ("Till Human Voices Wake Us") directed from a script he wrote, based on the short story by famed Hollywood Blacklist author Howard Fast ("Spartacus").
"Masters of Science Fiction" is filmed on location in Vancouver, B.C., and is from Starz Media, in association with Industry Entertainment and Reunion Pictures. John Hyde is executive producer for Starz Media. Industry Entertainment's Keith Addis, Brad Mendelsohn and Andrew Deane are executive producers. Sam Egan and Lisa Richardson are co-executive producers. Industry's Ben Browning and Adam Goldworm are co-producers.
The series is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to airdate.
