"EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" PROVIDES A NEW HOME FOR
A SINGLE MOTHER AND HER FOUR KIDS WHO'VE BEEN LIVING IN
THE DINING ROOM OF HER PARENTS' HOME
"Kilgallon Family" -- Ty and the gang will build a new home for Marynoel Kilgallon and her four children, of Levittown, PA, who've been living in the dining room of Marynoel's parents' home, on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD 5/6/07)
After her divorce, Marynoel Kilgallon decided to create a better environment for her four children by purchasing a house that was a "fixer upper." As a woman working two jobs and struggling to make ends meet, that was all that she could afford. She thought that a new coat of paint and a woman's touch could make the place a lovely home. But despite her measures to ensure that she'd bought a safe house, it began to fail on her.
While pulling up the carpet, she noticed termite damage. Then the ceiling wall began to crumble. Marynoel got a structural engineer to assess the damage, and it was determined that the house was unsafe for habitation. This left her without many choices, so Marynoel decided to move into her parents' dining room. On top of that, she is still paying a hefty mortgage, insurance and electricity on a house she can't live in.
The Kilgallon family has shown great resolve and courage in dealing with all this adversity. On this episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," it's up to Ty and the gang to create new and safe home that will provide a loving environment for Marynoel and her four boys.
While Ty and the designers, local builder McGrath Homes and hundreds of volunteers and workers are rebuilding their home, the Kilgallon family will go on vacation to Walt Disney World.
The design team for this episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will feature team leader Ty Pennington and designers Paul DiMeo, Ed Sanders, Preston Sharp and Tracy Hutson.
